| 001. |
We do every day what gives us no spiritual benefit. After wasting our entire life in this way, we realize that our human life has gone to waste. |
| 002. |
We waste our entire life trying to gain the artificial happiness of the world and miss out on attaining elated ecstasy through devotion in life. |
| 003. |
We do not enjoy worldly pleasures, instead, these pleasures consume and finish us in the end. |
| 004. |
We should never consider the world to be attractive, beautiful and valuable but Maya (illusion) forces us to believe it is. |
| 005. |
Maya (illusion) makes us run a lot in the world and, in the end, makes us disappointed. |
| 006. |
When we depart from the world, nothing but devotion will go with us. |
| 007. |
Mentally, we should always remain connected with and keep the company of GOD in every situation. |
| 008. |
The company of Satsang (Holy discourse) is needed to be detached from the world. |
| 009. |
The thought of GOD should always run in our conscience. |
| 010. |
We should always experience the contiguity of GOD in our life. |
| 011. |
The creature is satisfied only by devotion of GOD. There is no satisfaction from any other means in the world. |
| 012. |
Devotion is a great Mahakumbh (nectar of immortality) filled with the water of ecstasy. |
| 013. |
Devotion adorns us with the jewellery of peace. |
| 014. |
Solitude is essential. The great thoughts for GOD can never come within us while living in the crowd of the world. |
| 015. |
The more people we meet, the more our spiritual energy will be depleted. |
| 016. |
Detachment from the world is necessary for devotion. |
| 017. |
There is no other pilgrimage like solitude. Only one who practices solitude can undertake devotion. |
| 018. |
Solitude is the most necessary means for the attainment of peace because devotion is not possible without solitude. |
| 019. |
Devotion breaks the bonds of Maya (illusion) and takes the creature out of it. |
| 020. |
We should try to make our life meaningful and adopt the state of virtuous qualities. This is possible only through devotion. |
| 021. |
We should let GOD worry about our Yogakshema (the acquisition of what is unobtained and the preservation of what is obtained), we should not do it ourselves. |
| 022. |
The firm belief that GOD will take care of our Yogakshema (the acquisition of what is unobtained and the preservation of what is obtained) should be in our heart. |
| 023. |
If we consider ourselves the master, we will be stuck in our own worries. If we consider ourselves a servant of GOD, our Master GOD will take care of our worries. |
| 024. |
Living as a servant of GOD is the most superior thing. Shri Bharatlalji's feeling always was that the kingdom of Shri Ayodhyaji belongs to GOD and I am just a servant of GOD. |
| 025. |
Becoming one with GOD is the most superior achievement of human life. |
| 026. |
Maya (illusion) comes in the way of reaching GOD. Devotion weakens the bond of Maya and takes us to GOD. |
| 027. |
Devotees teach us through their life stories how we should live as a servant of GOD in life. |
| 028. |
One should always try to connect with GOD from their conscience. |
| 029. |
If we have faith in GOD, He will always inspire our intellect to engage in devotion. |
| 030. |
In the lineage of all Gurus (Master), the Adi Guru (first Master) in the end is GOD. |
| 031. |
GOD gives whatever one asks for but when He becomes extremely pleased with someone, He gives him the gift of devotion. |
| 032. |
Sometimes, GOD starts pursuing a devotee to give them something, because a desireless devotee never asks for anything from GOD. |
| 033. |
The chosen deity of the mantra (sacred utterance) which a person chants mentally walks alongside them. |
| 034. |
GOD gives Himself to the devotee. This is the capability of devotion only. |
| 035. |
GOD wants to give us jewels in the form of devotion, but we, in the form of the world, want pebbles from GOD. This is our great misfortune. |
| 036. |
We should unite our mind with GOD and relish the nectar of devotion in life. |
| 037. |
Devotees leave the worries of their Yogakshema (the acquisition of what is unobtained and the preservation of what is obtained) to GOD. |
| 038. |
We were not born to collect the pebbles of the world. We were born for the attainment of GOD and we should use our human life for this. Devotion is what teaches us to do this. |
| 039. |
Even before we had teeth, GOD had made arrangements for our nourishment in the form of milk in our mother's breasts. Therefore, we should always have the firm belief in life that even after we get teeth, GOD will make arrangements for our nourishment. |
| 040. |
GOD protects those who have faith that GOD will protect them. GOD can test our faith, but still, He does protect us. |
| 041. |
GOD makes the worldly mother take care of when her small child is hungry and when to feed him. Similarly, if we always remain small in front of GOD, He, like a Divine Father, always takes care of all our arrangements. |
| 042. |
The moment the feeling that I do not have to make my own arrangements becomes firm in life, GOD comes to make our arrangements. |
| 043. |
One should never calculate what they received as a result of the prayer they performed for GOD. A true devotee never has a desire to receive anything from GOD. |
| 044. |
One should never wait for the fruit of devotion in life. Devotion should never be cashed in for its fruit in life. |
| 045. |
In devotion, we should spend our life being completely absorbed in GOD. |
| 046. |
If we undertake devotion and desire a fruit, we will get a fruit. If we undertake devotion and do not desire a fruit, we will get GOD. |
| 047. |
We should only and only be absorbed in the love of GOD. |
| 048. |
When devotion reaches its pinnacle, the act of spiritual practice is naturally let go. When Saint Shri Ramakrishna Paramhansji would sit for prayer, even with the materials in front of him, he could not perform the prayer and due to his devotional emotions, a continuous stream of tears would flow from his eyes. |
| 049. |
One who practices true devotion is not saddened by loss and dishonor, nor is they happy with gain and fame because that devotee has risen above all these things. |
| 050. |
Saints stay away from the troubles of the world, that is why they are able to undertake devotion. |
| 051. |
We have received our life only for the attainment of GOD. |
| 052. |
Bhagwati Meera Bai had to listen to a lot of things, she was even called a disgrace to her family but it did not have any effect on her because her devotion to GOD was true and she always remained absorbed in the elated ecstasy of that devotion. |
| 053. |
A devotee only thinks of GOD. Devotees do not have any desire to think about happiness or sorrow, fame or dishonor. |
| 054. |
A devotee continuously contemplates the Divine Lotus Feet of GOD in life. |
| 055. |
In the pinnacle of devotion, a wave of love for GOD always keeps rising in our conscience. |
| 056. |
The continuous stream of devotion of GOD should keep flowing in our conscience. This stream should never be interrupted in life. |
| 057. |
We can connect with GOD through five mediums- name, form, virtues, divine pastimes, and abode. |
| 058. |
In the state of supreme devotion, prayer, recitation, chanting, psalmody, Holy pastimes, and rituals all become secondary. They bring us to GOD, but then, when the supreme devotion is awakened, they tell us that we have brought you this far and now we are returning, leaving you at the Divine Lotus Feet of GOD. |
| 059. |
Just as when a bride and groom get married, the companions take the bride to the husband's chamber but turn back from the door, in the same way, prayer, recitation, chanting, psalmody, Holy pastimes and rituals bring us to the door of GOD and return. |
| 060. |
Just as a tree does not hold on to a ripe fruit and lets it go, all spiritual practices also let go of us when we become mature in devotion and say that now you belong to GOD, so our work is done. |
| 061. |
Upon the maturation of devotion, the giving up of actions and the results of actions happen in life. |
| 062. |
We should reach the essence of the Holy Scriptures and know their essence. |
| 063. |
The stream of love that flows towards GOD is called devotion. |
| 064. |
When a devotee's devotion reaches a mature and supreme state, they are freed from all rules. |
| 065. |
If you have the desire to attain the shelter of GOD, then you should become committed to it in life. |
| 066. |
Only a continuous stream of love for GOD should flow within us. |
| 067. |
GOD Himself cuts all the bonds of actions from the life of the one who reaches the pinnacle of devotion. |
| 068. |
Only devotion saves the creature on this journey of life. |
| 069. |
The state of being absorbed in continuous love for GOD should be created within us. |
| 070. |
Maya (illusion) removes its web of illusion from the front of the creature who undertakes devotion. |
| 071. |
By the grace of GOD, Maya (illusion) disappears from the life of a devotee. |
| 072. |
A devotee sees the reflection of GOD in all the living and non-living things that come before him. |
| 073. |
A devotee perceives GOD in everyone. |
| 074. |
Worldly things never affect a devotee. |
| 075. |
A devotee feels that GOD is watching him from within all the living and non-living elements. |
| 076. |
The sight of the entire universe becomes full of GOD for the devotee. |
| 077. |
A devotee inspires all the people who come in contact with him to undertake devotion of GOD. |
| 078. |
GOD has declared in the Shrimad Bhagwad Geetaji that one who accepts shelter of GOD crosses over the terrible river of Maya (illusion) of this world. |
| 079. |
There should be nothing in our life except the love for GOD. |
| 080. |
A devotee has a vision of GOD who is present in the home temple, GOD who is present in his conscience and GOD who is present in all the living and non-living things of this entire creation. |
| 081. |
Devotion cannot be defined because it is the name of an experience. Only one who has experienced devotion knows the nectar of bliss of devotion. |
| 082. |
The love for GOD is priceless and transcendental, and worldly affection is secondary to it. |
| 083. |
Devotion cannot be described in words because the experience of devotion cannot be expressed in words. |
| 084. |
Just as the taste is realized by eating, similarly, devotion is realized only by undertaking devotion. |
| 085. |
How powerful and pleasant an experience GOD's love gives is only known by looking at the characters of the devotees. |
| 086. |
Devotees are sent into the world by GOD so that they can spread the ecstasy of devotion in the world. |
| 087. |
Out of millions of people, only a few have the desire to attain GOD, out of these, only a few make an effort for it, and out of these, only a rare one is able to reach GOD. |
| 088. |
Devotion of GOD is mandatory for the attainment of elated ecstasy. |
| 089. |
GOD comes before us in different forms and performs Divine pastimes. Therefore, a devotee respects every form of GOD and worships every form of GOD. |
| 090. |
The attainment of GOD should be the supreme goal of human life. There are other species for pleasures but for the attainment of GOD, there is only and only the human species. |
| 091. |
The best way to attain GOD is through devotion of GOD. The biggest obstacle in the attainment of GOD is Maya (illusion). One can be saved from illusion only through devotion. |
| 092. |
The one who undertakes devotion of GOD in life crosses over the worldy ocean. |
| 093. |
Devotion absorbs us in the love of GOD. |
| 094. |
In devotion, the exchange of love between GOD and the devotee keeps happening. |
| 095. |
GOD frees the devotee from their bonds of actions. |
| 096. |
A continuous stream of love for GOD keeps flowing in the conscience of the devotee. |
| 097. |
A devotee remains absorbed only in the feeling of GOD. |
| 098. |
Only the transcendental things of GOD come out of the mouth of a devotee. |
| 099. |
One should achieve only devotion in life. |
| 100. |
Devotees receive the touch of GOD in their conscience and become absorbed in its elated ecstasy. |
| 101. |
What we do is secondary devotion but by undertaking secondary devotion, we move toward supreme devotion. |
| 102. |
A devotee makes everyone remember only GOD. |
| 103. |
GOD is the only one who washes away all our sins. |
| 104. |
A devotee remembers GOD himself and also makes everyone who comes in contact with him remember GOD. |
| 105. |
The heart of a devotee is flooded with the love of GOD and this is the true elated ecstasy of life. |
| 106. |
Only those who undertake devotion of GOD are truly satisfied in life. |
| 107. |
Only those who undertakes devotion of GOD experience elated ecstasy in life. |
| 108. |
The elated ecstasy obtained from remembering GOD and in the contiguity of GOD is transcendental, and worldly happiness is very secondary in comparison. |
| 109. |
Devotion is the best means to satisfy our heart because complete satisfaction is possible only and only through devotion. |
| 110. |
One whose mind has become absorbed in GOD attains the greatest satisfaction in the world. |
| 111. |
A devotee always wants to meet another devotee because he only wants to hear and talk about GOD. |
| 112. |
Becoming one with GOD through devotion is the true joy of life. |
| 113. |
In the state of supreme devotion, GOD is seen even with one's eyes closed, GOD is seen even with one's eyes open and GOD is seen in all directions in the world. |
| 114. |
One who undertakes devotion easily crosses over the worldy ocean. |
| 115. |
Maya (illusion) disappears from life as soon as GOD's grace happens. |
| 116. |
Upon remaining firm on the path of devotion, GOD one day gives the gift of supreme devotion. This has happened with all devotees. |
| 117. |
One who undertakes devotion certainly receives the gift of GOD's grace and GOD's love. |
| 118. |
Maya (illusion) is afraid of GOD, which is why illusion never frightens one who undertakes devotion of GOD. |
| 119. |
The effect of Maya (illusion) is destroyed as soon as one goes into the contiguity of GOD. |
| 120. |
One should live life by becoming of GOD. |
| 121. |
In front of a devotee, GOD forgets His Godliness. |
| 122. |
A greater elated ecstasy than devotion is not available anywhere in the entire universe. |
| 123. |
The name of the pinnacle of elated ecstasy is devotion. |
| 124. |
The love for GOD always overflows in the heart of a devotee. |
| 125. |
One must have the experience of GOD in life, one should live with this resolve in life. Only then will devotion become intense and the realization of GOD will be possible in life. |
| 126. |
A devotee does not remember anyone else besides GOD. A devotee's heart holds only the memories of GOD. |
| 127. |
A devotee lives a life of complete satisfaction and complete elated ecstasy. |
| 128. |
One should always remember GOD and remember only the virtuous qualities of GOD. |
| 129. |
There should be so much love for GOD in our heart that our heart always remains filled with the flow of GOD's love. |
| 130. |
Devotion teaches us to have the most superior love for GOD. |
| 131. |
In devotion, one should not ask for anything from GOD, nor should one even desire anything from GOD. Sometimes our mind doesn't ask for anything but it desires something. A devotee neither asks for nor desires anything from GOD. |
| 132. |
GOD gives a place in His heart to His desireless devotees, in whose minds the desire to want anything from GOD has not even awakened. |
| 133. |
The supreme fruit of human life is to attain devotion of GOD. |
| 134. |
There should not just be love for GOD but supreme love must be for GOD. |
| 135. |
It should not just be devotion but it should be intense devotion. |
| 136. |
Supreme love for GOD means that one cannot live without remembering GOD. |
| 137. |
In devotion, there should be an extreme longing for GOD. A longing like when someone has submerged our face in water and we become extremely restless to take a breath. The longing for GOD in devotion should be a Googol (1 with a hundred zeros) times greater than that. |
| 138. |
There should be such supreme love for GOD that we are unable to hold our breath for even a moment without remembering GOD. |
| 139. |
GOD should be our everything because without Him, our existence is nothing. |
| 140. |
The love for GOD should be continuously increasing, which means it should keep increasing with every passing moment. |
| 141. |
There should be not even a slightest trace of desire in the love for GOD, only then is it called true love for GOD. |
| 142. |
One should not love GOD while harboring a desire in the mind that GOD will do my work, because this becomes the love of selfishness. |
| 143. |
By connecting with GOD in any form, our welfare will certainly be achieved. |
| 144. |
Do not ask for anything from GOD, just love Him, because GOD knows, even without being told, what we need and when to deliver it to us. |
| 145. |
One should never remember GOD while carrying desires. One should only remember GOD by being without desire. |
| 146. |
In pure love for GOD, there is not even a touch of desire. |
| 147. |
GOD gave the residents of Mathura protection from the attack of Jarasandha. GOD gave the residents of Dwarka wealth like that of heaven. But GOD did not give anything to the residents of Braj. Yet, saints say that GOD gave Himself to the residents of Braj, because the residents of Braj never asked for or desired anything in return for their love for GOD. The residents of Braj had pure love for GOD. |
| 148. |
The Gopis always tried to give joy to GOD. Apart from this, they did not have a single desire or hope from GOD. |
| 149. |
GOD happily comes under the bond of love of one who practices pure love. |
| 150. |
In the world, there is restlessness for any thing until it is attained, but after it is attained, the thirst for it ends within a few days. GOD is the only one for whom devotees always have extreme longing, and even after meeting GOD, the devotee's thirst for GOD's love never ends, rather, it keeps increasing. |
| 151. |
GOD gave the residents of Braj so much separation that even when the residents of Braj met GOD in Shri Kurukshetraji after more than a hundred years, they had no complaints against GOD and their love for GOD had increased greatly by that time. |
| 152. |
It is a principle that the separation from GOD increases the devotee's love for GOD, that is why GOD gives separation to His devotees. |
| 153. |
True devotees do not want anything from GOD. |
| 154. |
Seeing the love for GOD of the Gopis, GOD Shri Shukadevji also fell silent in the Shrimad Bhagwatji and said that even he could not describe that love. Saint Shri Gyaneshwarji also said the same thing about the love of the Gopis, that the description of that love is simply not possible. |
| 155. |
The Gopis wanted to forget GOD so much, yet they could not forget GOD even for a moment. |
| 156. |
Our mind should remain constantly drawn towards GOD. |
| 157. |
The principle of GOD's love is that GOD's love is that which never diminishes, one should believe that anything that diminishes was never GOD's love. |
| 158. |
GOD becomes ready to give His devotee everything but the devotee does not want anything. The devotee does not want heaven, salvation or even the burning of the sins of his past lives from GOD. |
| 159. |
A devotee never wants to burden GOD with his own desires. |
| 160. |
GOD is extremely tender, so it is essential for our heart to also become tender, only then will the experience of GOD be possible in our heart. |
| 161. |
The Divine Lotus Feet of GOD are so tender that in the Shree Rama avatar, while pressing GOD's Divine Lotus Feet, Bhagwati Sita Mata used to worry whether Her own Divine Hands would cause pain to GOD's Divine Lotus Feet. Imagine how tender the Mata's Divine Hands were, yet Mata used to think that GOD would feel pain. Therefore, just imagine how tender GOD's Divine Lotus Feet are. |
| 162. |
In the beginning, devotion may be an action, but later, devotion no longer remains an action, it becomes a matter of experience. |
| 163. |
One should always see GOD in a tender form while performing prayer. |
| 164. |
A devotee never undertakes devotion of GOD for the fulfillment of their desires. |
| 165. |
The Gopis used to tell GOD that if He had to give anything, He should only give that their love for GOD continues to increase in their lives. They neither desired heaven nor salvation from GOD. They only desired GOD's love from GOD. |
| 166. |
The continuous flow of the devotee's conscience always flows towards the Divine Lotus Feet of GOD. |
| 167. |
Some kind of service for GOD should be continuously performed by our body. |
| 168. |
The name of GOD alone should continuously remain on our tongue. |
| 169. |
In life, there should be devotion devoid of any desire that continuously increases with every passing moment. |
| 170. |
Our devotion should never be depleted for any reason. |
| 171. |
The principle of devotion is that when true devotion occurs, it occurs completely. |
| 172. |
Devotion may take time to awaken, but once it is awakened, it happens continuously. It is not the case that devotion is undertaken sometimes and given up sometimes. |
| 173. |
Devotion begins in life but is never complete because devotion continues even after the attainment of GOD. |
| 174. |
Devotion is only a matter of experience. Only the one who undertakes it knows its value. |
| 175. |
There should be supreme love for GOD in our heart. |
| 176. |
One who has received the nectar of true devotion of GOD does not like anything else. |
| 177. |
Just as a mother loves her child very much if a child is born at the age of 50, 25 years after marriage, she has the desire to keep looking at her child and she wants to talk and listen only about her child. Similarly, a devotee has a million times more love for their GOD, they only want to see GOD, talk about GOD and listen about GOD. |
| 178. |
When devotion awakens in life, the flow of GOD's love comes out from within us. |
| 179. |
One who undertakes devotion doesn't like the world at all because the relish for the world ends in their life. |
| 180. |
One who undertakes devotion doesn't feel like looking at the world because they always want to remain immersed in the love of GOD. |
| 181. |
GOD should never feel unfamiliar in life. GOD alone should feel like one's own in life. |
| 182. |
Contemplating GOD has a favorable effect on our life-force. |
| 183. |
GOD's love awakens such a sweetness in our heart that we cannot even imagine. |
| 184. |
One should never offer a formal greeting to GOD. One should always offer a Sashtang Dandavat Pranam (prostrate, full obeisance) filled with complete emotions. |
| 185. |
To attain GOD's love is the greatest fortune of life. |
| 186. |
The name of the one who resides in our conscience comes from our speech, our eyes want to see only their vision and our ears want to hear only about them. Therefore, one should always keep only GOD residing in one's conscience. |
| 187. |
A devotee always keeps only GOD residing in his conscience. That is why he always desires to contemplate only GOD, always desires to listen only about GOD and always desires to speak only about GOD. |
| 188. |
There should always be enthusiasm in our mind to celebrate the festivals of GOD. |
| 189. |
The Holy pastimes of GOD should be heard in detail, not briefly, because there is nothing else sweeter or more Divine worth hearing. |
| 190. |
Saints give up their home, family and the world, but their longing to hear the Holy pastimes of GOD never leaves them because GOD's Holy pastimes are so Divine and great. |
| 191. |
It is the nature of devotees to continuously sing the praises of GOD's virtues. |
| 192. |
Devotees sing the praises of GOD's virtues for their own spiritual bliss. They give ecstasy to themselves through the praises of GOD's virtues. GOD Shri Shukadevji narrated the Holy pastimes to King Shri Parikshitji but even before and after that, he used to sing the verses of the Shrimad Bhagwatji alone, immersed in bliss, for his own spiritual bliss. |
| 193. |
The true Ekadashi (fasting once in a fortnight) is the day when we are so absorbed in the remembrance of GOD that we do not feel hunger or thirst. |
| 194. |
Devotion of GOD is the true essence of human life. |
| 195. |
A person's true earnings are the devotion undertaken in their life. |
| 196. |
One should establish a relationship of devotion with GOD while there is still time in life. This is the success of our life. |
| 197. |
Devotion alone is capable of making us satisfied. |
| 198. |
All our doubts have been clarified by the Holy Scriptures. |
| 199. |
While we are alive, we should make arrangements to cross the worldly ocean by becoming a servant of GOD. |
| 200. |
The Holy Scriptures say that the true sacrifice one should make before GOD is of their vices. |
| 201. |
We should rise above Tamasic (ignorant), Rajasic (passionate), and Sattvic (virtuous) devotion to reach supreme devotion. |
| 202. |
It is wrong to undertake devotion of GOD with the intention of attaining a superior object. |
| 203. |
One who undertakes the virtuous devotion of GOD is freed from their past sins, the faults of this life and the bondage of actions. |
| 204. |
One should not undertake devotion of GOD with any desire. One should undertake devotion of GOD with the intention that GOD should be pleased with me. |
| 205. |
The superior form of virtuous devotion is that my life is for the service of GOD, I am a servant of GOD, therefore I must undertake devotion of GOD. |
| 206. |
In life, we should always try to rise above the level of devotion we are currently at. |
| 207. |
Some people do not remember GOD otherwise, but they remember GOD due to fear in times of adversity. When the crisis becomes so great and the creature realizes that they cannot overcome it by their own manhood, then they remember GOD. This should not be the case, and one should always remember GOD in life. |
| 208. |
There should be intense longing in our prayer. |
| 209. |
GOD becomes infinitely more restless for His devotees than the devotee is restless for GOD. |
| 210. |
GOD is the only one who can free us from a crisis. |
| 211. |
There should be complete faith in GOD. |
| 212. |
Shri Jagannath Panditji, the composer of Shri Ganga Lahari, used to live in the Mughal court and his conduct and thoughts were not proper. But he had unwavering faith in Bhagwati Ganga Mata. At his final time, he came to Shri Kashiji at the bank of Mother Ganga and told Bhagwati Ganga Mata that Mother, until today, you have saved many sinners but a sinner like me has come for the first time today. He said that Mother, show the whole world today how generously you save Jagannath Pandit, the chief of sinners. He started singing Shri Ganga Lahari and after each verse, Mother Ganga would ascend one step of the bank and by the last verse, Mother Ganga had completely immersed him within Herself. He surrendered his life-force to the Mother, and in his final state, the Mother took him in Her lap, just as a mother takes her child and granted him salvation. Therefore, one should always maintain unwavering faith in Bhagwati Ganga Mata. |
| 213. |
Shri Garuda Puranaji teaches us to have love for GOD by showing us the fear of hell. All the Holy Scriptures try to make us have love for GOD through love, greed, fear or any other means. All the Holy Scriptures inspire us with the goal of seeking shelter of GOD. |
| 214. |
One should keep moving forward and further forward in devotion. |
| 215. |
Whenever you remember GOD, remember Him with complete longing. |
| 216. |
Longing in devotion is the jewel of devotion. |
| 217. |
Our conscience should always remain restless for GOD. |
| 218. |
The effect of words on GOD is less, the effect of the feeling hidden behind the words is greater. Therefore, it is necessary to have a complete feeling behind the words of the prayer. |
| 219. |
The supreme form of devotion is seeking shelter of GOD. |
| 220. |
One should keep the goal in life of reaching supreme devotion by performing secondary devotion and one should always strive for this in life. |
| 221. |
The thought of how difficult it is to undertake devotion should never be allowed to come into one's life because there is no other easier and more complete spiritual practice than devotion, nor can there be. |
| 222. |
Devotion is superior to actions, devotion is superior to Yog, devotion is superior to Knowledge and devotion is also superior to rituals. |
| 223. |
Devotion is easier than actions, devotion is easier than Yog, devotion is easier than Knowledge and devotion is also easier than rituals. |
| 224. |
Among all the spiritual practices, the practice of devotion is the easiest to perform. |
| 225. |
The simplicity that is in devotion is in devotion alone. |
| 226. |
Devotion is the supreme spiritual practice, even though it is extremely simple and extremely accessible. |
| 227. |
On the path of devotion, even if the aspirant runs with their eyes closed, they will neither lose their way nor fall because GOD is always ready to support them. |
| 228. |
The practice of devotion is suitable for everyone because there cannot be an easier path than this. That is why Devrishi GOD Shri Naradji has repeatedly expounded devotion. |
| 229. |
The festivals of GOD should be celebrated with enthusiasm. GOD is dear to us, so the festivals of GOD should also be dear to us. |
| 230. |
The essence of the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapurana is continuous and infinite. There have been many great souls who did not read anything else and spent their entire lives reading this great Divine Scripture repeatedly. |
| 231. |
The discovery of GOD's love should happen in life. |
| 232. |
One should continuously sing and hear the glory of GOD. |
| 233. |
When we do anything for GOD, GOD only sees the emotions hidden behind it. |
| 234. |
Everything we have attained has been attained only by the grace of GOD. Therefore, what can we give to please GOD. This is why GOD is pleased only by our emotions. |
| 235. |
One should never create an ostentation of devotion. |
| 236. |
The prominence of emotions should always be maintained in devotion. |
| 237. |
No rules of the Holy Scriptures apply to devotion because devotion is an independent spiritual practice. In devotion, there is only and only the prominence of emotions. |
| 238. |
We can practice devotion even without reading the Holy Scriptures. The Gopis, Shri Prahladji and Shri Dhruvji did not read any Holy Scripture and undertook the supreme devotion. |
| 239. |
The exposition of devotion is mainly found in all the Holy Scriptures. |
| 240. |
Peace and elated ecstasy cannot be found anywhere except through devotion. |
| 241. |
If the love for GOD is awakened in the conscience through devotion, the experience of peace and elated ecstasy begins in life from that very moment. |
| 242. |
Devotion is the only medium to solidify this relationship that GOD alone is mine and I belong only to GOD. |
| 243. |
Devotees never consider the world their own, they consider only and only GOD their own. |
| 244. |
We should always remain in the contiguity of GOD. |
| 245. |
Devotion establishes a firm relationship with GOD, due to which the fear of insecurity and lack is eliminated forever from life. |
| 246. |
Devotion establishes our permanent relationship with GOD and keeps strengthening it day by day. |
| 247. |
A permanent relationship with GOD is established in devotion. |
| 248. |
GOD is the form of ecstasy. Because of this, when we undertake devotion of GOD, we connect with continuous ecstasy. Therefore, the experience of ecstasy remains constant in devotion. The ecstasy that is in devotion cannot be found anywhere else. |
| 249. |
The very form of devotion is that of elated ecstasy. |
| 250. |
The supreme manhood is devotion. Devotion is a greater manhood than Dharma (religion), Artha (wealth), Kama (desires), Moksha (salvation). Devotion sits on the forehead of these four, such is the high state of devotion. |
| 251. |
If one wants to undertake devotion, one must stop worrying about the deceit of the world. Just as a soldier has to stop worrying about being shot, similarly, one has to give up the deceit of the world to undertake devotion. |
| 252. |
We are made only for GOD, therefore, our very existence is from GOD. |
| 253. |
One who undertakes devotion does not have to worry about this world and the afterworld because they experience nothing but welfare in both this world and the afterworld. |
| 254. |
In life, we should move forward only on the path of devotion. |
| 255. |
One who undertakes devotion while engaging in worldly affairs receives some fruit. But one who forgets worldly affairs and undertakes devotion achieves the supreme success. |
| 256. |
One who undertakes devotion should only practice devotion, they should never have a second thought. Bhagwati Mira Bai never had a second thought about going back after leaving the palace. Devrishi GOD Shri Naradji described many calamities of the forest to test Shri Dhruvji but Shri Dhruvji never had a second thought. |
| 257. |
If one truly wants GOD, one will have to possess the capability to forget everything of the world in life. |
| 258. |
One should not desire the fruit of the actions performed by oneself. It should be offered at the Divine Lotus Feet of GOD. |
| 259. |
One should not have any connection with the fruit of any action and should immediately offer it to GOD. |
| 260. |
Only when we are able to remove our conscience from the talks of the world and the things around us will we be able to undertake devotion. |
| 261. |
One must practice devotion as much as possible in life. |
| 262. |
Devotees should always give up the discussion of unnecessary things. |
| 263. |
In devotion, there is a need to stay away from the sights of the world to keep one's conscience steady. |
| 264. |
Worldly wealth makes the mind restless. Therefore, the wealth in the form of GOD's Name is the greatest wealth. |
| 265. |
One should never discuss with atheists because this can even break our feeling. |
| 266. |
Devotion should be in the form of a duty and devotion should also become the rule of our life. |
| 267. |
Supreme devotion of GOD should be the supreme goal of the creature. No other form of existence is useful for this besides the human form of existence. |
| 268. |
In devotion, there are some things we must do and some things we must completely stay away from. |
| 269. |
One who has started following the rules of devotion in life will certainly attain welfare. |
| 270. |
One should choose only the path of devotion because this is the supreme path. |
| 271. |
We should not take pleasure in any discussion other than that of GOD. |
| 272. |
The mind becomes peaceful and satisfied only by discussing and listening about GOD. |
| 273. |
The more goodness increases within us, the closer we will get to GOD. The more badness increases within us, the farther we will move away from GOD. |
| 274. |
We should never pretend to be devoted just to show the world, because GOD does not like this at all. |
| 275. |
In reality, the creature's attention is towards enjoyment and accumulation. That attention should be removed from there and centered on GOD through devotion. |
| 276. |
We can deceive the world by showing off, but we can never deceive GOD. |
| 277. |
If arrogant people are not even dear to worldly people, how can they be dear to GOD. |
| 278. |
By giving up arrogance, a person becomes popular in the world and also becomes dear to GOD. |
| 279. |
Desireless devotees are the dearest to GOD. |
| 280. |
Ego is not at all dear to GOD. GOD keeps every egoistic person, no matter who they may be, away from Himself as long as the ego remains in them. |
| 281. |
If one wishes to go to GOD, one should always go as a humble person. No one who has gone as a great person has ever attained GOD. |
| 282. |
It is said in the Holy Scriptures that even if a camel can pass through the eye of a needle, an arrogant person can never attain GOD. |
| 283. |
We have arrogance of wealth, knowledge, position and popularity. The one whose throat is seized by arrogance does not even realize that ego has entered them, but as soon as this happens, that creature immediately moves away from GOD. |
| 284. |
Even a trace of arrogance is not dear to GOD. |
| 285. |
Devrishi GOD Shri Naradji warns us that one should never have arrogance of devotion in life, otherwise, the devotion will also not be meaningful. |
| 286. |
If we are able to practice devotion in life, we should believe that GOD is making us do it out of favor for us. The ego that we are practicing devotion on our own strength should never be allowed. |
| 287. |
One should be able to see GOD Shree Shankarji in every pebble of Shri Kashiji. Once, Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhuji went to Shri Kashiji and sat down where people's slippers were kept in the assembly of Brahmins. He said that his place is at the feet of the people of Shri Kashiji because Shri Kashiji is the supremely Holy land of GOD Shree Shivji. Devotees give such respect to the places of pilgrimage. |
| 288. |
Only the one who considers themselves smaller than a blade of grass can reach GOD. |
| 289. |
If the creature develops the ego that I have performed so much devotion, they deplete their devotion. The principle is that if there is even the arrogance of devotion, that devotion of ours does not reach GOD. |
| 290. |
Counting one's virtuous deeds leads to the destruction of the virtuous deeds. Similarly, Devrishi GOD Shri Naradji says that counting one's devotion also leads to the depletion of devotion. |
| 291. |
We attain heaven on the strength of virtuous deeds, and as soon as the virtuous deeds are exhausted, we are pushed back from heaven and fall to the world of mortals. Therefore, instead of attaining heaven by performing virtuous deeds, one should attain the Abode of GOD by undertaking devotion, from where one will never be pushed back into the world. |
| 292. |
Boasting of one's devotion out of ego leads to the depletion of devotion. |
| 293. |
GOD loves the creature very much whose mind has not been touched by any kind of ego. |
| 294. |
If GOD has given you something special, you should consider it only as the great grace of GOD. If the arrogance arises that I have attained it through my fortune or manhood, then that arrogance will certainly cause our downfall. |
| 295. |
The ego of having chanted GOD's Name on the rosary excessively in life should also never arise. |
| 296. |
Sometimes we even develop the arrogance of having no ego. A person says that I have no ego because I am a servant of the servants of GOD. The very arrogance of having no ego that this person developed also causes that aspirant to fall. |
| 297. |
There are only two ways to avoid ego. First, everything that has been done should be offered to GOD. Second, one should see the grace of GOD in all the actions performed, that GOD has made me do this out of grace and I have not done it solely by my own strength and wisdom. |
| 298. |
All our conduct and thoughts should be done for GOD. |
| 299. |
Whatever is to be done, do it only with GOD. Whether it is to be angry, to love, or to fight — whatever is to be done, do it only with GOD. Devrishi GOD Shri Naradji says that all devotees have been doing this because devotees have performed all their dealings only with GOD. |
| 300. |
When we connect all our relationships with GOD, all our dealings automatically begin to happen with GOD. |
| 301. |
Kansa always used to be afraid by remembering GOD. Due to the fear of GOD, Kansa's spiritual practice was accomplished. He remembered GOD out of fear and GOD granted him salvation. Saints also long to attain such a death, because at the final moment, GOD Himself was on Kansa's chest, Kansa's gaze was fixed on GOD, GOD's Name was on Kansa's lips and GOD's eyes were on Kansa. Due to this kind of death, Kansa was immediately liberated and reached the Abode of GOD. GOD has so much compassion that GOD certainly grants welfare even to one who remembers Him out of fear. |
| 302. |
By having any kind of dealing with GOD, we can be saved. If we connect with GOD in any way, our salvation is certain. |
| 303. |
Saints say that one should have all their dealings only with GOD. The saints jokingly say that if you feel like fighting, don't fight with the neighbor, don't fight with a family member, close the door of the Thakurbari (home temple) room and fight with GOD. |
| 304. |
If you have to sulk, you should sulk with GOD because the principle is that one only sulks with those who are their own. Saints say that if our devotion is true, GOD will come into our mind and console us when we sulk. |
| 305. |
The principle is that no matter how much you cling to this world, the world will eventually abandon you. Therefore, if you must cling, cling to GOD because GOD will never abandon you. |
| 306. |
Adulteration happens with the homogeneous. Water mixes with milk because both are liquids. Iron cannot be adulterated with milk. Similarly, the world is non-living and the creature is a living element, therefore, the creature and the world can never unite because only the homogeneous unite. The creature is a living element and GOD is living, therefore, the creature can only unite with GOD —this is the principle. |
| 307. |
We are the drop of the living and GOD is the ocean of the living. Only the drop can meet the ocean. |
| 308. |
Only GOD is one's own. The world can never be one's own. |
| 309. |
One should always keep one's thoughts focused on GOD. |
| 310. |
One should engage one's mind with GOD under any pretext. GOD never looks at the pretext, GOD only sees that the mind has become attached to GOD and then GOD accepts us. |
| 311. |
For any reason, one should always remember only GOD with the mind. |
| 312. |
It is sufficient that the mind keeps remembering GOD in devotion. Saints say that GOD does not want anything more than this. |
| 313. |
By perceiving the presence of GOD in any object, that object gives us auspicious results. For example, by perceiving GOD Shree Ganpatiji in the betel nut during prayer, GOD Shree Ganpatiji gives us its auspicious result. |
| 314. |
To be arrogant is very bad, but even arrogance, if we connect it with GOD, becomes beneficial. To maintain the ego that I am the servant of GOD alone, GOD is my master is justifiable and religion-abiding. |
| 315. |
GOD should be the basis of every inclination of our life. |
| 316. |
To seek from GOD, to fight with GOD, to talk with GOD, to cry for GOD, to laugh for GOD. Whatever is done in life, do it for GOD - this is devotion. |
| 317. |
Remembering anyone else is the cause of bondage. Remembering GOD is liberation from bondage. |
| 318. |
It is the principle that the creature should always perform only the service of GOD and the worship of GOD. |
| 319. |
One should never allow one's relationship with GOD to be broken. |
| 320. |
We should always maintain our main relationship with GOD in life. |
| 321. |
Our worldly relationship should also be considered valid only because of devotion, that is, the worldly relationship with the person should be considered valid only if that person is connected to GOD. That person is also connected to GOD and I am also connected to GOD, therefore, our worldly relationship should exist. |
| 322. |
At the end of Shrimad Bhagwad Geetaji, GOD tells Shri Arjunji to forget everything that I have told you so far and only surrender to Me. We should establish only the relationship of a surrendered soul with GOD. |
| 323. |
Loving GOD should be considered the greatest manhood of one's life. |
| 324. |
GOD is my master and I am the exclusive servant of GOD. We should not be salaried servants but unpaid servants, just as the Gopis said that they were the unpaid maidservants of GOD. |
| 325. |
The feeling of servitude should be like the one GOD Shree Hanumanji has for GOD Shree Ramji. |
| 326. |
The house is not ours, it belongs to GOD. Then why do we live there ? One should believe that we live in GOD's house as the servants of GOD. |
| 327. |
For whom is the food prepared ? The food is prepared for GOD and we accept the remnants of the offering made to GOD as GOD's Prasadi (remnants). |
| 328. |
Consuming the Prasadi (remnants) of GOD makes sins flee from life. |
| 329. |
We should have the feeling of being an everlasting and daily servant towards GOD. |
| 330. |
The Gopis accepted GOD as their Beloved. There is no question of male-female here, because the Holy Scriptures consider all souls to be the Beloved of GOD, whether they are in a male body or a female body. This is because the Holy Scriptures consider GOD alone to be the Supreme Male. |
| 331. |
GOD says that the creature who maintains the feeling of a Beloved is infinitely dearer to Him than the dearest wife is to her husband. |
| 332. |
Only devotion should be established in our life. |
| 333. |
What actions we perform in devotion is secondary. How much love for GOD is filled in our conscience is the main thing. |
| 334. |
One should accept any single sentiment with GOD in life. In devotion, one should connect with GOD with any one sentiment. |
| 335. |
Devotion gives us the freedom to connect with GOD with any sentiment. |
| 336. |
Connecting with GOD with any one of the various sentiments according to one's own inner feeling is devotion. |
| 337. |
Whatever the sentiment may be, the sentiment of servitude will definitely be present in it because in all relationships with GOD, we must perform the service of GOD. |
| 338. |
Even when maintaining the sentiment of a friend, we are the young friend and GOD is the guardian friend. Therefore, the sentiment of servitude is included in it. Shri Sugrivji was the young friend and GOD Shri Ramji was the guardian friend. Therefore, Shri Sugrivji always performed the service of GOD as a servant. |
| 339. |
One should perform as much service of GOD as one desires, but whatever is done, complete faith should be maintained in it. The most important thing is the extent of the sentiment of faith. |
| 340. |
Considering oneself a servant of GOD, one should perform the service of GOD throughout life with an honest sentiment. |
| 341. |
Enthusiasm for the service of GOD should remain constant throughout life. |
| 342. |
An aspect of GOD also resides in the Thakurbari (home temple) of the house. |
| 343. |
We can please the Cosmic GOD by performing the service of any one form of GOD. |
| 344. |
The conjugal sentiment is the dearest to the saints because, just as a husband is everything to a wife, in the conjugal sentiment, GOD is everything to us. |
| 345. |
One must love GOD in life because there can be no alternative to GOD's love. Devotion gives us complete freedom as to what sentiment to love GOD with. |
| 346. |
The creature should perform solitary devotion. Solitary devotion means that I do not want anything else except the one GOD. |
| 347. |
The supreme are those who do not perceive anything else except the one GOD. |
| 348. |
Devotees will look at GOD, think about GOD, speak about GOD and perform the service of GOD. |
| 349. |
We should proceed on the path of GOD-realization with great speed. |
| 350. |
Bhagwati Mira Bai did not receive any happiness externally. The world did not give her any happiness, but internally, in her conscience, she attained the Divine elated ecstasy of GOD. |
| 351. |
Our life should be solely for GOD. |
| 352. |
Rising above the ordinary level of devotion, one should practice prime devotion with intensity, only then can GOD-realization be possible for us in a single lifetime. |
| 353. |
Just as an arrow pierces through any obstacle in its path and does not change its direction, similarly, on the path of devotion, we should continuously move forward with intensity, overcoming obstacles and keeping our direction towards GOD. |
| 354. |
The world criticizes those who walk on the path of devotion but those devotees do not pay attention to the world because their attention is solely on GOD. Their only focus is that when will I attain GOD and when will GOD accept me. |
| 355. |
History is a witness that all devotees and saints have proceeded on the path of devotion with great speed. |
| 356. |
It is not true that all supreme devotees saw GOD only once. They behold the vision of GOD whenever they wish because GOD removes all distances from them, does not remain separate from them and becomes one with them. |
| 357. |
Devotees remain immersed only in the realization of GOD. |
| 358. |
The devotee constantly feels thrilled in devotion and a stream of tears of love keeps flowing from their eyes. |
| 359. |
When feeling enters devotion, words stop, meaning words are dissolved. |
| 360. |
The stream of tears flowing from the eyes of the devotees is what reveals the elated ecstasy within them. |
| 361. |
That family becomes blessed in which a devotee takes birth. |
| 362. |
GOD is the master of infinite universes. |
| 363. |
When the desireless devotee does not ask anything from GOD, then GOD Himself pursues them to give them something. We pursue GOD to receive something and GOD pursues the desireless devotee to give them something. What a great difference this is. |
| 364. |
Shri Prahladji tells GOD that there is no possibility of his father, Hiranyakashipu, being saved because he opposed GOD throughout his life. But GOD says that whatever Hiranyakashipu's life may have been, simply by being the father of the devotee Shri Prahladji, the salvation of Hiranyakashipu's 21 generations has happened automatically. Such is the great glory and such is the great capability of devotion. |
| 365. |
The birth of a devotee becomes the cause of the salvation of the entire family. |
| 366. |
GOD says that the place where a devotee resides becomes like a place of pilgrimage. |
| 367. |
Devotees always experience oneness with GOD in their conscience. |
| 368. |
The creature is absorbed in objects and enjoyments but the devotee is absorbed in GOD. |
| 369. |
The one who desires nothing but the one GOD is the true devotee. |
| 370. |
The one whose every action in life has the objective of GOD-realization is fit to be called a devotee. |
| 371. |
The entry and inclusion of GOD happen within devotees because they experience oneness with GOD from the conscience. |
| 372. |
The devotion of devotees does not cease even after realization of GOD but rather becomes more firm. |
| 373. |
The devotee and GOD are not two separate entities, due to absorption, they become one. |
| 374. |
GOD always has a permanent abode within the devotees. |
| 375. |
Devotees are sachal tirth meaning moving places of pilgrimage. |
| 376. |
When a devotee is born in a family, the ancestors of that family celebrate and praise their fortune that a devotee of GOD has been born in their family. |
| 377. |
All the demigods residing in the three worlds also become favorable to the devotee. |
| 378. |
There is no one as fortunate as the residents of Braj and the Gopis, with whom the Cosmic GOD plays His childhood pastimes by becoming small. |
| 379. |
When a devotee beholds the vision of GOD's image with their eyes, GOD Shri Suryanarayanji (Sun GOD) becomes full of ecstasy because He resides in our eyes. When a devotee utters GOD's Name with their tongue, GOD Shri Agnidevji (Fire GOD) becomes satisfied because He resides on the tongue. Similarly, every demigod has a place in every organ of our body, so as every organ of our body engages in the devotion of GOD, the demigods residing there become full of ecstasy, contented, and satisfied. |
| 380. |
Listening to GOD's narrative provides momentary satisfaction, but the thirst for listening to the narrative increases even more. The one whose mind constantly desires to listen to the narrative has truly heard the narrative. |
| 381. |
One should drink the essence of GOD with all one's senses. One should drink the essence of GOD's form with the eyes, drink the essence of GOD's Name with the tongue, and drink the essence of GOD's narrative with the ears. The senses should not be used for other worldly purposes. |
| 382. |
Not two or three times, not hundreds of times, not thousands of times but even after listening to the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapurana ten million times, the essence does not diminish but keeps increasing. Some devotees in this Kaliyuga (modern era) have done nothing else in life but repeatedly listen to the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapurana and thus made their whole life blessed. |
| 383. |
Only devotion of GOD is an nectar-like spiritual practice. |
| 384. |
The enchanting form of GOD captivates our mind. |
| 385. |
GOD Himself is the element of nectar. |
| 386. |
One should savor the conjugal sentiment of GOD's form slowly and repeatedly with the eyes. |
| 387. |
Only those who undertakes the devotion of GOD's Sagun Saakar form (real-life incarnation) take the supreme benefit of their life. |
| 388. |
Devotees are always with-a-protector because GOD bears all their worries. GOD always remains in the lives of His devotees, which is why devotees are always with-a-protector. |
| 389. |
The world forgets us but GOD never forgets us. |
| 390. |
Society forgets everything but society never forgets the devotees of GOD. Goswami Shri Tulsidasji, Bhagwati Mira Bai and Saint Shri Tukaramji are still immortal in society because of their devotion. |
| 391. |
GOD always gives support to the devotees. |
| 392. |
It has been the tradition of society that only those who are connected to GOD, such as sages, saints and devotees, are always remembered by society. |
| 393. |
Devotees take birth in any caste but they do not remain confined to that caste because they work for the salvation of the entire society. Therefore, devotees have no caste. |
| 394. |
It is the pride of Bharat (India) that in every province and every caste of this country, there have been devotees who have propagated the devotion of GOD everywhere. |
| 395. |
Devotion never divides the common people but always unites them. |
| 396. |
Bhagwati Rukmini Mata was attracted to GOD due to listening to the virtuous qualities of GOD. Therefore, one should always keep listening about GOD. GOD's Holy pastimes narrative is the greatest medium for this. |
| 397. |
The thirst for GOD's love should always remain in life. |
| 398. |
One should always maintain a sentiment full of devotion for GOD in life. |
| 399. |
We can never achieve our salvation by our own strength and manhood. GOD alone is capable of granting our salvation. |
| 400. |
We should pray to GOD that we are sinking into the mire of the world, and that GOD, out of great grace, should hold our hand and pull us out of this mire. |
| 401. |
The letter that Bhagwati Rukmini Mata wrote to GOD was a letter of her complete surrender, therefore, GOD immediately accepted Her. |
| 402. |
GOD Himself arrives to grant salvation to surrendered devotees. |
| 403. |
Since the creature is an aspect of GOD, who is the form of ecstasy, the creature is also the form of ecstasy but it has forgotten its own ecstasy. The re-attainment of ecstasy in life is possible only through devotion. |
| 404. |
In Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapurana, Shrimad Bhagwad Geetaji and Shri Ramcharitmanasji, the predominance is only of devotion. Devotion is expounded with predominance in these Holy Texts. |
| 405. |
The mention of abandoning devotion will not be found anywhere, anytime, in any Holy Scripture. |
| 406. |
In all Holy Texts, only the devotion of GOD and the act of loving GOD have been spoken of. |
| 407. |
The spiritual nourishment that devotion provides to the creature is not possible through any other spiritual practice. |
| 408. |
One should not search for GOD outside but always within oneself. |
| 409. |
Devotion teaches us that we should always maintain the awareness of GOD in our life. |
| 410. |
The more devotion we practice, the calmer our conscience will become. |
| 411. |
As soon as the auspicious Name of GOD comes onto our tongue, we begin to become dear to GOD. |
| 412. |
The consideration of caste is made in rituals but the consideration of caste is not made in devotion, because people of every caste have the complete right to practice devotion. |
| 413. |
If equality is ever established in the world, it will be only through devotion. |
| 414. |
When Shri Sumantraji told Shri Bharatlalji about Nishadraj Guhji, saying he was a devotee of GOD, Shri Bharatlalji immediately embraced him with love because of his being a devotee of GOD. The caste of Nishadraj Guhji became secondary. |
| 415. |
Sage Shri Vashishthji also embraced Nishadraj Guhji. Nishadraj Guhji's caste was the lowest and Sage Shri Vashishthji was the highest in caste, yet due to devotion, caste became secondary and a great Sage embraced him. |
| 416. |
In devotion, the Holy Scriptures also become secondary. Which Holy Scripture had Bhagwati Shabariji read ? Which Holy Scripture had Bhagwati Karmabai read even in the Kaliyuga (modern era) ? |
| 417. |
We should ask ourselves if we have learned to love GOD in life. |
| 418. |
Devotees are very simple at heart, therefore, they are dear to GOD. |
| 419. |
Only because of devotion are we able to understand GOD even a little. |
| 420. |
Devotion teaches us oneness in humanity, meaning not to make distinctions. |
| 421. |
Due to devotion, our conduct in life becomes good. |
| 422. |
Devotion does not allow us to develop a sentiment of insignificance towards any creature. If we consider others insignificant and ourselves supreme, we should assume that our devotion has not been established. |
| 423. |
A devotee can never see the world with a sense of distinction. |
| 424. |
A devotee sees everyone as the offspring of the one Supreme Soul. |
| 425. |
In the view of a devotee, the parents of the entire universe are GOD and all creatures are the children of GOD. |
| 426. |
To devotees, every land of the world belongs to GOD, therefore, the borderlines of countries can never confine them. |
| 427. |
If we connect our relationship with GOD, an aspect of GOD's immensity will also come within us. |
| 428. |
A saint does not say that I belong to this caste, or this province, or this country, they say that I belong to the whole world, because they belong to GOD, and GOD's immensity comes into them. GOD belongs to everyone, which is why saints also consider themselves to belong to everyone. |
| 429. |
The entire world belongs to GOD and GOD resides in the entire world. |
| 430. |
The entire world is controlled by GOD. GOD is the sole master and operator of the entire universe. |
| 431. |
We should work as the messenger of GOD's message. Therefore, propagating the devotion of GOD is the supreme. |
| 432. |
Devotees see the world with the same perspective with which they see themselves. There is no distinction in their perspective, which is why the conduct of devotees is the supreme. |
| 433. |
The devotee continuously communicates with GOD in their innermost being. |
| 434. |
If one wants to attain GOD, one should always stay away from worldly arguments. Wherever an argument is seen, one should immediately move away from there. Devotees should always do this in their life. |
| 435. |
For the adoration of GOD, one should keep one's mind and intellect surrendered to GOD. |
| 436. |
The worldly people, after facing setbacks from the world, will ultimately have to come to the same path of devotion that GOD has shown in the Holy Scriptures for GOD-realization. |
| 437. |
It is the eternal principle that the complete welfare of the creature is possible only on the path of devotion. |
| 438. |
One should learn to always find time in life for GOD. |
| 439. |
The one who wishes to maintain their devotion should not get involved in the complicated affairs of the world. |
| 440. |
If one wants to advance on the path of devotion, one should keep the Holy Scriptures of devotion on their head and read them daily. Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran is the supreme Holy Text of the Scriptures of devotion. |
| 441. |
Books that do not discuss devotion should always be kept away from life. |
| 442. |
One should listen to some Katha (Holy pastimes) of GOD daily so that the love for GOD increases in life. |
| 443. |
One should daily chant some verses from the Shrimad Bhagwad Geetaji, Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapurana or Shri Ramcharitmanasji. |
| 444. |
There is no one like GOD Shree Hanumanji in the entire Scriptures of devotion. There is no devotee greater than GOD Shree Hanumanji. |
| 445. |
The recitation of Shri Hanuman Chalisaji should never be done with speed. One should recite it slowly, understanding the sentiment of the words of the Shri Hanuman Chalisaji and immersing oneself in that sentiment. |
| 446. |
If one wants to read the Scriptures of devotion, one should read the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapurana and Shri Ramcharitmanasji. |
| 447. |
Some Scripture of devotion is definitely available in every provincial language. |
| 448. |
The principles of devotion are found in the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapurana and the characters of devotees are also found in this Holy Text, in which those principles are reflected. |
| 449. |
Our sentiment of devotion in life will only grow by reading and listening to the Scriptures of devotion. |
| 450. |
One should always follow the emulable aspects of the character of devotees in life. |
| 451. |
One should perform some action daily that increases devotion. |
| 452. |
Efforts should be made in life for the seed of devotion to be sown within us, to sprout and to develop. |
| 453. |
One should adopt such a discipline in life that strengthens the sentiment of devotion in our mind. |
| 454. |
If we continue practicing devotion daily, our call will reach GOD daily and one day GOD will surely notice that who is this whose call comes to Me every day and on that day, the compassionate gaze of GOD will fall upon us. |
| 455. |
A small discipline taken for GOD liberates us from the biggest fears of life. |
| 456. |
The practice of devotion should be daily in life. |
| 457. |
Devotion should never be postponed for tomorrow. Not even half a moment should be wasted in life without devotion. |
| 458. |
Everyone has to leave the world one day and we cannot take any object collected in the world with us. Only the devotion that we have performed will accompany us. |
| 459. |
One should not plan devotion for later. One should start devotion from today itself and not even half a moment of today should be wasted without devotion. |
| 460. |
As long as there is life, the waves of home and business will continue to rise in life. We will have to practice devotion amidst these waves of the world. |
| 461. |
One has to find time in life to practice devotion. |
| 462. |
When our direct relationship with GOD is established, GOD gives us elated ecstasy, peace and fearlessness. Devotion is the supreme means of connecting one's relationship with GOD. |
| 463. |
Man thinks that there is plenty of time left in his life to practice devotion. This thinking is completely wrong because the correct time to practice devotion is now and immediately. |
| 464. |
Life is ephemeral, therefore, devotion should be practiced with immediate effect. |
| 465. |
One should not wait for old age to practice devotion because by then the body may not be fit to practice devotion. The suffering of the body in old age will not allow our attention to focus on GOD. |
| 466. |
One should undertake devotion without wasting time in life. |
| 467. |
Whether in happiness, sorrow, favorable or unfavorable circumstances, one should keep practicing devotion in whichever situation we are in. |
| 468. |
Time should never be wasted in lethargy. Lethargy is a very big hindrance in devotion. |
| 469. |
The expectation from a supreme person is that they should begin devotion in life from today itself. |
| 470. |
One should never commit violence, not even with the hands, but also not with speech or sight. There should be no sentiment of enmity towards anyone, nor any sentiment of causing sorrow to anyone. Only then will we be able to practice devotion. |
| 471. |
Violence of speech is also unpleasant to GOD. Therefore, one should always avoid violence of speech in life. |
| 472. |
The devotee wants to bring about the welfare of everyone by connecting everyone with GOD. |
| 473. |
The devotee's mind is filled only with the sentiment of goodwill for others. |
| 474. |
GOD, in the role of our parents, nourishes and protects all of us. |
| 475. |
The conscience of the devotee is filled with the desire for the welfare of the world by connecting everyone with GOD. |
| 476. |
GOD always desires our welfare. This is the nature of GOD. |
| 477. |
Devotees always propagate the devotion of GOD. |
| 478. |
What a devotee thinks, he speaks, and what he speaks, he does. |
| 479. |
The supreme devotion of GOD happens only through a pure and calm conscience. |
| 480. |
Purity should always be adhered to in life. A devotee's body, diet and thoughts are all pure. |
| 481. |
If we are able to practice devotion in life, we should thank GOD for it, that GOD has given us the opportunity to practice devotion. This opportunity is only available to a rare few. |
| 482. |
We should master the art of seeing the aspect of GOD in all creatures, devotion teaches us this. |
| 483. |
If there is compassion in our heart for the creature, GOD will be very pleased with this virtuous quality of ours. |
| 484. |
One should undertake devotion in life and adopt virtuous qualities in life to please GOD. |
| 485. |
Even in an atmosphere of atheism in the world, one should always maintain the protection of theism within oneself. Not even a trace of atheism should flourish within us, and if this begins to happen, it should be stopped immediately. |
| 486. |
By keeping virtuous qualities awakened within us, we will be able to succeed quickly on the path of devotion. |
| 487. |
No moment in our life should pass without us experiencing our relationship with GOD. |
| 488. |
The command, instruction and direction of Devrishi GOD Shri Naradji is that the devotion of GOD should be practiced with certainty in life and should be practiced always, meaning devotion should be unbroken. |
| 489. |
Practicing devotion is the highest manhood of life. The one who understands this is indeed fortunate, because ultimately, everyone will have to accept this fact and everyone will have to practice devotion in life. |
| 490. |
The true meaning of renunciation is living one's life under the shelter of GOD. |
| 491. |
Even while remaining in the world, we can live life like a renunciate. Forgetting family, friends, relatives and ancestors, one should practice the devotion of GOD alone. |
| 492. |
Devrishi GOD Shri Naradji wants to tell us that one should practice the devotion of GOD alone in life. |
| 493. |
This experience that I belong only to GOD and only GOD is mine, should always be maintained in life. |
| 494. |
No one becomes a renunciate just by changing clothes. Those who forget "I" and "mine" and practice the devotion of GOD are the true renunciates. |
| 495. |
To remember only this much in life that I belong only to GOD, and GOD alone is mine, and to forget everything else, is devotion. |
| 496. |
Devotion should be started immediately in life and then the time for devotion should be continuously increased in life. |
| 497. |
Devotion is the complete surrender of oneself to GOD and the emotional dissolution into the Divine Lotus Feet of GOD. |
| 498. |
The practice of sitting before GOD with certainty for some time should be done daily in life. |
| 499. |
Even for half a ghadi (a period of time of around 12 minutes), one should completely forget the world, forget oneself, forget one's family and business, and sit only and only with GOD, and join the sentiment of oneness with GOD. |
| 500. |
Devotion is the name of an emotional relationship with GOD. |
| 501. |
We should not belong to GOD only occasionally in times of need but we should always belong to GOD in life. |
| 502. |
The creature does not have a relationship across lifetimes with any other creature, whether it be a wife or a son. Only with the one GOD does every creature have a relationship across lifetimes. |
| 503. |
GOD should always be kept at the center of life, only then will devotion continue in an unbroken form. |
| 504. |
If one who practices the devotion of GOD has to worry about anything in life, it shows their distrust towards GOD. |
| 505. |
If we practice contemplation of GOD in life, then GOD runs everything for us. GOD has said in the Shrimad Bhagwad Geetaji that you contemplate Me, and I will take care of your concerns. |
| 506. |
If a wife asks another person while the husband is present, it is an insult to the husband. Similarly, if we hold a desire from a worldly person while GOD is present, it is an disrespect to GOD. |
| 507. |
GOD also cannot remain even for a moment without His devotee. |
| 508. |
One should always have faith in the capability and compassion of GOD in life and should not worry. We should contemplate GOD in life because a devotee who worries about themselves while GOD is present shows distrust in GOD. |
| 509. |
If a devotee practices the devotion of GOD unbrokenly and carefreely, and awakens the sentiment in their heart that I belong only to GOD, and only GOD is mine, then one day GOD will manifest before them to realize that sentiment. This is the ultimate fruit of devotion. |
| 510. |
GOD does not have to come from somewhere to manifest because GOD is present everywhere. He manifests only through the sentiment of devotion. |
| 511. |
In the end, to bless our life, GOD will manifest in the same Thakurbari (home temple) where we have sat and before the same idol where we have performed the spiritual practice of devotion throughout our life. |
| 512. |
GOD is all-pervading, therefore, due to devotion, GOD manifests from the same image of GOD that we worship, grants the devotee a vision in a form favorable to that devotee, and makes that devotee experience Himself. |
| 513. |
GOD comes not for the destruction of the wicked, but to provide the essence of devotion to His devotees. Saints have considered this to be the main purpose of GOD's incarnation. |
| 514. |
GOD is always with us. The experience of GOD can always be attained through devotion. |
| 515. |
Do not search for GOD outside, search for GOD only in your conscience because GOD will be found there. |
| 516. |
GOD grants us a vision in the same form of the image that we worship. |
| 517. |
The Scriptures of devotion are the laboratory for manifesting GOD in life. |
| 518. |
One who practices devotion should not remain in life without achieving the experience of GOD and the realization of GOD. |
| 519. |
In the past, present and future, there was, is, and will be only one truth, and that is GOD. |
| 520. |
Devotion has been given the supreme and foremost place by all sages, saints, and spiritual teachers. |
| 521. |
Devrishi GOD Shri Naradji repeats the same sentence three times to declare devotion as the supreme saying that devotion is supreme, devotion is supreme, devotion is supreme. |
| 522. |
The essence of the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran is the devotion of GOD. The auspiciousness and ultimate welfare of the creature happen only through devotion. |
| 523. |
If we have to state it in the simplest language, clinging to GOD is devotion. But it is our misfortune that our mind remains clinging to the world. |
| 524. |
Devotion is when our attachment becomes exclusively for GOD. |
| 525. |
The joy that is in the devotion of GOD is not present in any other path of spiritual practice. |
| 526. |
The supreme attainment possible in human life is that of supreme devotion. |
| 527. |
Devotion is becoming one with GOD. |
| 528. |
The relationship with GOD should be established through devotion while the body is still present, not after the destruction of the body. |
| 529. |
Bhagwati Ganga Mata has met the ocean and meets the ocean daily. Similarly, in devotion, meeting GOD and continuing to meet GOD daily both keep happening. |
| 530. |
Devotion is the supreme point of satisfaction and elated ecstasy of human life. |
| 531. |
After devotion, nothing remains to be attained. |
| 532. |
GOD told the final thing to Shri Uddhavji in the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran and to Shri Arjunji in the Shrimad Bhagwad Geetaji the give up everything and undertake My devotion only. |
| 533. |
GOD is satisfied only through devotion. |
| 534. |
GOD says that leave all the troubles, just belong to Me and undertake My devotion. |
| 535. |
When the greatest love wells up in GOD for the creature, GOD explains only the practice of devotion to the creature. |
| 536. |
In His final instruction in every Holy Text, GOD has always spoken only of devotion. |
| 537. |
GOD gives this instruction to Shri Uddhavji in the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran that remain continuously under the shelter of GOD and belong to GOD. |
| 538. |
Whether one does anything else in life or not, one should only belong to GOD in life and remain surrender to GOD in life. |
| 539. |
Everything in the universe exists only because of GOD. |
| 540. |
Devotion and surrender are the same thing. They are two sides of the same coin. If there is devotion in life, it will lead us to the surrender to GOD and if there is surrender to GOD in life, it will cause us to undertake devotion. |
| 541. |
Devotion absorbs us into GOD. The process of being absorbed into GOD is devotion. |
| 542. |
The attachment to subjects related to GOD should be present in life, this is devotion. We remain attached to the world, family, wealth and fame, to redirect the direction of this attachment towards GOD is devotion. |
| 543. |
Devotion is when the attachment that is for enjoyments is directed towards GOD, and this is the supreme manhood. |
| 544. |
The sentiment of extreme reverence and love for GOD should always be in the heart. |
| 545. |
The greatest love for GOD is continuously awakened in the devotee's heart by repeatedly listening to the virtuous qualities of GOD. Therefore, devotees continuously recite and listen to the Katha (Holy pastimes) of GOD. |
| 546. |
GOD's Katha (Holy pastimes) introduces us to the virtuous qualities of GOD, and for this reason, the creature begins to undertake love for GOD and devotion of GOD. |
| 547. |
The most supreme saints and devotees were initially attracted only by the virtuous qualities of GOD. GOD granted Putana the status of a mother, when we witness the immense compassion of GOD, natural love is awakened within us for GOD. |
| 548. |
GOD Shri Shukdevji says in the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran that he was a formless worshiper himself, but by listening to the virtuous qualities of GOD through a verse, he became attached to GOD forever. |
| 549. |
GOD changes His route to grant vision to Bhagwati Shabariji and eats the offered eaten fruits due to her sentiment, when we listen to such Katha (Holy pastimes), natural love is awakened in our mind for GOD. |
| 550. |
King Shri Parikshitji became so attached to listening to the glorification of the virtuous qualities of GOD that he even forgot his hunger and thirst. |
| 551. |
There is no one dearer to GOD Shree Hanumanji than GOD Shree Ramji. In the entire Shri Ramcharitmanasji, GOD Shree Hanumanji did not ask GOD for anything but when GOD asked GOD Shree Hanumanji what He should give him at the time of coronation after the exile, here GOD Shree Hanumanji requested that He may continuously listen to the Shri Ramkatha while remaining on the earthly sphere, and continuously listen to the glorification of the virtuous qualities of GOD Shree Ramji. GOD Shree Hanumanji wants to hear the virtuous qualities of GOD Shree Ramji again, and again, and again. It is a definite fact that wherever the Katha (Holy pastimes) of GOD Shree Ramji begins, GOD Shree Hanumanji reaches there and listens to the Katha (Holy pastimes) with respect, standing without sitting, with a stream of tears of sentiment. |
| 552. |
The virtuous qualities of GOD are great, which is why GOD Shree Hanumanji wants to hear them repeatedly. Therefore, he did not go to GOD's Abode and remained on the earthly plane because he wants to continuously listen to the Katha (Holy pastimes) of GOD. |
| 553. |
GOD Shree Hanumanji listens to the Katha (Holy pastimes) of GOD by bowing His head, fixing His gaze on GOD's Divine Lotus Feet, concentrating His ears on listening to the glorification of GOD's virtuous qualities and shedding a stream of tears of sentiment from His eyes. |
| 554. |
Having attachment to GOD's form, meaning continuously seeing the vision of GOD's form daily, is devotion. |
| 555. |
Our eyes should become entangled in the sweet sentiment of GOD's form. |
| 556. |
GOD Shree Krishnaji loves to be decorated, He needs someone to decorate Him. GOD is very pleased with the one who decorates Him. |
| 557. |
In Sanatan Dharma, the form of GOD that we aspire for is the form we receive. We can have attachment to the form of GOD that is dear to us, according to our interest. This is possible only in Sanatan Dharma because there are countless forms of GOD in Sanatan Dharma. |
| 558. |
We should make our eyes a cup and drink the essence of GOD's form. |
| 559. |
If the eyelids of the Gopis blinked while seeing the essence of GOD's form, they would curse the eyelids for the non-vision. They could not tolerate the non-vision of GOD even for the duration of an eyelid blink. |
| 560. |
Attachment to GOD's form is still seen in the supreme devotees of the Kaliyug (modern era), who travel from far away to stand in a long queue to have a momentary vision of GOD. Such devotees repeatedly stand in line to have the vision of GOD repeatedly. |
| 561. |
Is the benefit of having the vision of GOD's image in pilgrimage places any less of a fruit for human life. |
| 562. |
Devotees say to GOD that do nothing for us, just remain before our eyes. |
| 563. |
We should know how to see the vision of GOD's form with emotional ecstasy. |
| 564. |
Devotees see the idol installed in GOD's temple not as an idol but as the living form. |
| 565. |
We should fully engage our mind in the same form of GOD that we worship. |
| 566. |
The Gopis, Gopas, mother cows, deer, peacocks, animals and birds of Shri Braj were all attached to the form of GOD. |
| 567. |
It can never happen that GOD, out of grace, does not come to grant a vision to anyone who has sincerely attempted to have the vision of GOD through devotion. |
| 568. |
Shri Bhishma Pitamah, even while lying on the bed of arrows, continuously saw the vision of that form of GOD when GOD lifted the chariot wheel as a disc and ran towards Shri Bhishma Pitamah. This is called attachment to vision, and for this reason, GOD came to grant him a vision at his final moment. |
| 569. |
One should accept any one form of GOD as dear, whichever feels dear to us, and become attached to it. |
| 570. |
There should be attachment even in the prayer of GOD. The supreme fruit is attained from the Maanas Puja (mental prayer) the prayer performed by the mind which is even superior to the prayer performed by the body. |
| 571. |
We should pay attention to whether our heart is able to see the form of our GOD, who is seated in our temple in the home, within itself. |
| 572. |
The temple in the home should always be kept clean, and complete attention should be paid to its cleanliness - this comes under prayer itself. |
| 573. |
There should be attachment even to prayer. The example of this is King Shri Ambarishji, who, despite being a king, personally cleaned and swept the temple in his palace. |
| 574. |
Performing service for GOD is also devotion. Making garlands for GOD, picking flowers, preparing offerings, sweeping and mopping the GOD's temple, all these come under service. |
| 575. |
Never forget GOD. The remembrance of GOD should continuously happen in life while sitting in solitude. This is attachment to remembrance. |
| 576. |
Since there are no images of GOD in the demon family, Shri Prahladji became the supreme devotee because of continuously remembering GOD, even without being able to pray with an image of GOD. |
| 577. |
Wherever you go, keep the remembrance of GOD continuous. Keep continuously remembering GOD. Everything happens just by remembering GOD. Attachment to remembrance is a very useful spiritual practice in the Kaliyug (modern era). |
| 578. |
There should be attachment to servitude towards GOD. The sentiment of continuously remaining the servant of GOD should be present in life. |
| 579. |
One should continuously ask for this blessing from GOD that may I become worthy of service to GOD, may I perform service to GOD. |
| 580. |
Due to GOD Shree Hanumanji's attachment to servitude, he was never ready to leave the Divine Lotus Feet of GOD Shree Ramji. He continuously wished to practice the devotion of servitude to GOD. |
| 581. |
The Gopas of Shri Braj loved GOD so much that during cow-grazing, they would request GOD to rest on tree leaves spread out. They would make GOD sleep on their lap instead of a pillow. They would press GOD's Divine Lotus Feet and Divine hands. They would make a fan out of leaves and give air to GOD. |
| 582. |
GOD is pleased by the devotional hymns of His true devotees. GOD looks at the sentiment and emotion of the devotional hymn, not the singing and instrumental music. |
| 583. |
Friendship devotion happens among those of equal status, but even though GOD is so great, He is so compassionate that He accepts the creature even as a friend. Shri Uddhavji, Shri Arjunji, and Shri Sudamaji practiced the friendship devotion of GOD. |
| 584. |
Bhagwati Mirabai practiced devotion to GOD with the sentiment of a beloved. She had dedicated her life to GOD as the wife of GOD. |
| 585. |
Bhagwati Mirabai told her mother that she had married GOD in a dream. Even when Bhagwati Mirabai's worldly marriage took place, she took the rounds of the fire while holding the idol of GOD in her hand. By doing this, Bhagwati Mirabai took the rounds in her mind only with GOD. |
| 586. |
In the devotion of the conjugal sentiment (Kanta Bhava), there is no distinction between male and female. A woman can hold the conjugal sentiment for GOD, and a man can also hold the conjugal sentiment for GOD. How many saints there have been who practiced devotion to GOD with the conjugal sentiment. Even though they were men, they lived their whole lives as the wife of GOD. They wore men's clothes and behaved like men in the world, but in their conscience, they lived with GOD in the form of a woman. |
| 587. |
To keep one sentiment rooted in the conscience day and night that I am the beloved of GOD - is the conjugal sentiment. |
| 588. |
Parental devotion (Vatsalya Bhakti) is also very ecstatic. The sentiment that GOD is our child and it is our duty to pamper Him should be maintained in parental devotion. |
| 589. |
For Vaishnavas, the master of the house is always Shree Thakurji (GOD). Everything that happens in the house is only for GOD. |
| 590. |
The direct meaning of Self-Surrender devotion (Atmanivedan Bhakti) is to live life by taking the surrender of GOD. |
| 591. |
In life, there should be the sentiment that whatever there is, it is not mine, nothing is mine, everything belongs only to GOD. |
| 592. |
King Shri Baliji is the ideal of Self-Surrender devotion. Whatever he had, he offered it to GOD at His two Divine Lotus Feet and submitted himself as well at the third Divine Lotus Foot. King Shri Baliji's sentiment was, that now nothing is mine, everything, including myself, belongs only to GOD. Such a sentiment of Self-Surrender should also be in our life, and we should never allow it to be broken. |
| 593. |
The test of Self-Surrender devotion is also very severe. When GOD Shree Ramji was returning after completing His exile, GOD sent GOD Shree Hanumanji to test Shri Bharatlalji. GOD sent him because GOD Shree Hanumanji is the most skilled and capable at knowing the innermost thoughts of anyone, to check if Shri Bharatlalji still maintained his Self-Surrender to GOD even after fourteen years. If this were not the case, GOD would return to the forest. |
| 594. |
We should be absorbed in contemplation of GOD (Bhagavat Chintan) in life, meaning immersed in contemplation of GOD. |
| 595. |
In contemplation of GOD, the devotee is not even aware of anyone other than GOD. Even while selling milk and curds, the Gopis used to say, that take Gopal, take Govind, because their contemplation was continuously of GOD. It was their discipline to continuously contemplate GOD even while performing worldly actions. |
| 596. |
While engaged in contemplation of GOD (Bhagavat Chintan), Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhuji contemplated the blue ocean for the blue complexion of GOD Shree Krishnaji and jumped into it. |
| 597. |
While engaged in contemplation of GOD, a saint who used to sell vegetables on a cart would sell all the vegetables by naming them after GOD, because this kept his contemplation continuously of GOD. |
| 598. |
The intensity in devotion increases so much that the devotee becomes restless for GOD. This is called attachment due to separation (Virah Aasakti). |
| 599. |
The devotee remains ecstatic both in the union with GOD and also celebrates with ecstasy while remaining restless for GOD in the separation from GOD. |
| 600. |
Until the devotee meets GOD, they remain anxious, wondering, that when will GOD meet, when will GOD meet. Even when GOD has been found, the devotee remains anxious, wondering that GOD won't leave, will He, GOD won't leave, will He. In both conditions, the devotee remains anxious for GOD. This anxiety for GOD is ecstatic. This anxiety is not sorrow but gives elated ecstasy. |
| 601. |
There is that ecstasy in weeping for GOD that is not even present in laughing with the world. |
| 602. |
All types of attachment to GOD are seen in the Gopis. There should be at least one attachment for GOD in the life of every devotee. The devotee is fully independent to maintain more than one attachment for GOD. |
| 603. |
One should both practice the conduct of devotion and guide the world by propagating devotion. |
| 604. |
Devrishi GOD Shri Naradji states at the end of the Bhakti Sutras that this entire text and instruction was received by him from GOD Shree Mahadevji. Therefore, GOD Shree Mahadevji is the original Master (AdiGuru) of devotion. |
| 605. |
The realization that GOD resides directly in our conscience should always be present in us. |
| 606. |
GOD should be our most beloved one. |
| 607. |
GOD is within us but we are searching for Him outside, this is our mistake. |
| 608. |
Devrishi GOD Shri Naradji tells all devotees with great faith and as an assurance that by practicing devotion, GOD will be found, will surely be found, and will certainly be found. |
| 609. |
Devotion is not possible only by one's own manhood. It is possible only due to GOD's grace along with one's own manhood. It is only by the strength of GOD's grace that the creature can attain and does attain the devotion of GOD. |
| 610. |
Engaging one's life in the devotion of GOD is the supreme action that a human can perform in their life. |
| 611. |
We should believe that GOD gets us to practice devotion through His grace, and we should always remain grateful to GOD for this. |
| 612. |
Four things are crucial in the entire Scriptures of devotion. First, the devotion of GOD should be desireless. Second, there should be love for GOD alone. Third, one's complete Self-Surrender should be to GOD. Fourth, there should be complete shelter of GOD. |
| 613. |
The Tenth Canto of the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran is the very form of GOD's heart. |
| 614. |
The creature should not have reasoning intellect for GOD but complete reverence. |
| 615. |
GOD is our innate Supreme Father. |
| 616. |
Every creature belongs to GOD because every creature is an aspect of GOD. |
| 617. |
GOD Shree Krishnaji is the Supreme Person of Pastimes (Leela Purushottam), and GOD Shree Ramji is the Supreme Person of Propriety (Maryada Purushottam). |
| 618. |
The flow of our mind and our mental disposition should always be towards GOD alone. |
| 619. |
One should not apply intellect to the Holy Pastimes (Shri Leelas) of GOD Shree Krishnaji, one should only take their elated ecstasy. |
| 620. |
We should use our human birth only for the purpose of GOD-realization. |
| 621. |
The Tenth Canto of the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran is considered the best of the best, even among the supreme, because it offers a glimpse of the charming form of GOD, and by listening to it continuously, saints reach samadhi (meditative trance). This is the Canto that leads from listening to samadhi. |
| 622. |
The chanting of the entire Holy Pastimes (Shri Leela) of GOD Shree Krishnaji has been done in the Tenth Canto of the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran. Therefore, this Canto is extremely dear to the devotees. |
| 623. |
Saints believe that the essence that is in the Tenth Canto of the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran is not found even in heaven, Shri Vaikunth, Shri Kailash or Shri Satyalok (all abode of GOD). |
| 624. |
The ecstasy of contemplating any Holy Text in solitude increases ten times. |
| 625. |
The glorification of GOD's virtuous qualities (Bhagavat Gunanuvad), meaning singing the virtues of GOD, is the supreme spiritual practice. It is the crown jewel of all spiritual practices, all other spiritual practices are small in comparison. |
| 626. |
Listening to the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran is the highest spiritual practice. No other spiritual practice, pilgrimage or meditation is greater than this. |
| 627. |
The incarnation of GOD, viewed from any direction, appears only charming. Therefore, devotees allow their mind to sport in the Holy Pastimes (Shri Leelas) of GOD. |
| 628. |
The saints have interpreted the name GOD Shree Krishnaji as the one who attracts everyone towards Himself. |
| 629. |
Which saint or thinker has there been who was not charmed by the Divine utterance of GOD in the Shreemad Bhagwad Geetaji. |
| 630. |
For thousands of years, saints have been speaking and commentators have been writing commentaries, yet a new meaning of the eighteen chapters of the Shreemad Bhagwad Geetaji continues to manifest. |
| 631. |
The sweet smile of GOD is so sweet that countless poets have written countless poems on the sweetness of that smile. |
| 632. |
One should celebrate the festival of life by keeping GOD in the center. |
| 633. |
GOD provides the essence of His Holy Pastimes (Shri Leela Vihar) to all devotees. |
| 634. |
Wherever GOD goes, the glory of GOD goes with Him like a shadow. |
| 635. |
The tough study of the Holy Vedas (Shri Vedji) and Shri Upanishads is no longer needed because GOD has extracted and established the essence (meaning the butter) of all of them in the Shreemad Bhagwad Geetaji. |
| 636. |
The welfare of how many people has been achieved by the Divine utterance of GOD, the Shreemad Bhagwad Geetaji, to this day cannot even be counted. |
| 637. |
Vicious people harbor doubt about the Holy Pastimes (Shri Leela) of GOD in their minds, but those whose intellect is pure experience only the elated ecstasy of listening to GOD's Holy Pastimes in their minds and have no doubt. |
| 638. |
GOD alone provides elated ecstasy. The creature keeps yearning for elated ecstasy across lifetimes, but it is only when he goes under the shelter of GOD that he receives elated ecstasy. |
| 639. |
Devotion is awakened within us by savoring the essence of GOD's Holy Pastimes (Shri Leela). |
| 640. |
By savoring the essence of GOD's Holy Pastimes (Shri Leela), the three miseries of the world are destroyed. |
| 641. |
Saints devoted their entire lives to the effort of trying to know GOD as much as possible. |
| 642. |
Virtuous qualities are awakened in our intellect and prudence by savoring the essence of GOD's Holy Pastimes. |
| 643. |
The Holy pastimes (Katha) of GOD is the most useful for the awakening of devotion. |
| 644. |
The devotion of GOD is the supreme established principle of the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran. |
| 645. |
Merely knowing GOD is not enough, rather, practicing devotion of GOD and practicing devotion with complete absorption is the fundamental direction of the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran. |
| 646. |
Causing the creature to develop love for GOD is the fundamental objective of the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran. |
| 647. |
If wealth, glory, sons and grandsons have all been acquired in life, but the devotion of GOD and the love of GOD have not been acquired, then, according to the Scriptural opinion, life is completely unsuccessful. |
| 648. |
The question of the sages to Shri Sutji in the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran is that what is that one thing, the attainment of which makes life successful. In response, Shri Sutji said that that one thing is the loving devotion (Premabhakti) of GOD. |
| 649. |
We have debts to Deities (Dev Rina), sages (Rishi Rina) and ancestors (Pitra Rina). But on the one who practices the loving devotion of GOD, no debt remains, because the creature who practices the devotion of GOD gives ecstasy to the Deities, sages and ancestors as well, therefore, all his debts are forgiven. |
| 650. |
The only and only supreme solution to attain the devotion of listening (Shravan Bhakti) is the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran. |
| 651. |
If one wants to destroy sorrow, attachment and fear from life, then devotion is its only solution. |
| 652. |
The pinnacle of the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran is the "Tenth Canto". |
| 653. |
Throughout life, we took time out for others. Now, we should dedicate our entire time only and only for GOD. |
| 654. |
A human being desires to listen to the things they like in detail, just as King Shri Parikshitji urged GOD Shri Shukdevji to listen to the incarnations of GOD in detail. |
| 655. |
One should fix one's consciousness on GOD through the medium of devotion. |
| 656. |
Life should be spent only in the contemplation of GOD and in singing the devotional hymns of GOD. |
| 657. |
Devotion leads to the complete purification of the consciousness. |
| 658. |
The sentiment of King Shri Parikshitji was that the Katha (Holy pastimes) of his chosen Deity should not be in brief but that he could listen to it in full detail. |
| 659. |
Devotees and saints always wish to listen to the Holy pastimes of GOD in detail. |
| 660. |
Human life becomes blessed of the blessed by moving towards GOD. |
| 661. |
The devotion of GOD washes away all the desires of the creature, otherwise, life is spent only chasing the fulfillment of desires. |
| 662. |
The elated ecstasy of devotion can only be attained when one is desireless. |
| 663. |
One thing that even the saints who give up everything do not give up and never give up is the devotion of GOD, because they attained devotion in their life only after giving up everything. |
| 664. |
One should make the effort that the experience of GOD happens to us at some point in life, and this is possible only through devotion. |
| 665. |
In the view of devotees, the world is not beautiful at all. The one who finds the world beautiful is not a true devotee, because in the view of devotees, the only beautiful one is GOD alone. |
| 666. |
The world is not beautiful because it is an abode of sorrow, is sorrow-giving, and is ultimately only going to cause sorrow to everyone. |
| 667. |
One should never look at the world with the viewpoint of enjoyment. One should never maintain the tendency of enjoyment in life, because if this happens, GOD moves far away from us. |
| 668. |
The creature who does not have the tendency for enjoyment can never be bound by the world. |
| 669. |
Devotion itself destroys the tendency for enjoyment in the creature. |
| 670. |
Devotion does not allow us to get trapped in the world. |
| 671. |
Saints and devotees become enchanted by the beauty of GOD. |
| 672. |
GOD is so merciful that He granted the status of a mother even to Putana, who came to feed Him poison. GOD is the pinnacle of mercy. |
| 673. |
The laughter of GOD is such that devotees get entangled in it. The laughter of GOD is the one that enchants the devotees. |
| 674. |
Even if there is an ocean of tears of sorrow in life, a single glance of grace from GOD soaks it up. |
| 675. |
Devotees become crazy for GOD, just as worldly people become crazy for the world. |
| 676. |
GOD Shri Shukdevji became captivated by GOD's beauty upon hearing two verses from the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran that he heard from the disciples of GOD Shri Vyasji. |
| 677. |
Saints meet GOD only after everything else in their lives is relinquished. |
| 678. |
It is the glory of the creature to consider GOD alone as the sole basis of life. |
| 679. |
One should never consider any person as one's basis in life. One should consider only GOD alone as the sole basis of one's life. |
| 680. |
GOD grants Himself to those who do not desire anything, who do not desire anything even from GOD. |
| 681. |
There have been saints who never read a single Holy Text, never read the Holy Vedas and Scriptures, but practiced true devotion to GOD, and whatever they spoke became the Scriptures itself. |
| 682. |
Devotees practice unconditional devotion (Ahetuki Bhakti), meaning they practice devotion without any purpose or reason, because they simply cannot live without devotion. |
| 683. |
There is no one in the universe who is more beautiful or more beneficial than GOD. |
| 684. |
For devotees, the glorification of GOD's virtues becomes their very life. |
| 685. |
Devotees remain perpetually colored in the color of GOD. |
| 686. |
Devotees perform their devotional hymn (bhajan) to recite it to GOD and to please GOD. They do not perform the devotional hymn to show off to people. |
| 687. |
The devotee continuously performs the research (anusandhan) of the Name, Form, Virtues, Holy Pastimes (Leela) and Abode (Dham) of GOD. |
| 688. |
The Holy pastimes of GOD is the supreme medicine for eradicating worldly ailments (Bhava Rogas). |
| 689. |
The saints who abide in the sentiment of the Gopis consider GOD as their husband, themselves as a Gopi, and the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran as their sacred thread (Mangalsutra). |
| 690. |
Our worldly desires cannot be destroyed without listening to the Holy pastimes of GOD. |
| 691. |
The Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran is the medicine for worldly ailments (Bhava Rogas). But it is so sweet that even after the worldly ailments are eradicated, the habit of taking the medicine remains. Even after the worldly ailments are eradicated, the devotee continuously takes the medicine in the form of the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran. |
| 692. |
Devotees cannot live without the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran. The Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran keeps the devotee bound due to devotion and ensures their supreme welfare. |
| 693. |
The one who neglected the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran in life is a self-destroyer, meaning he has destroyed his own soul. |
| 694. |
Due to the grace of GOD, the Pandavas crossed the Mahabharat war as easily as a person crosses a puddle made by the hoof of a cow's calf. King Shri Parikshitji himself stated this fact while listening to the Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran from GOD Shri Shukdevji, saying that this happened due to the strength of GOD's grace. |
| 695. |
King Shri Parikshitji says with great pride that GOD was the one and only protector of the entire Pandava lineage. |
| 696. |
The fact that King Shri Parikshitji is alive to listen to the Katha (Holy pastimes) is also something he considers to be only the grace of GOD. Otherwise, Shri Parikshitji says that the Brahmastra was used to destroy him in the womb, but GOD saved him. Shri Parikshitji says that if it were not for the grace of GOD, he would never have even seen the world. |
| 697. |
Even after escorting our dearest one to the cremation ground, we still have to partake in food to satisfy our hunger. But Shri Parikshitji listened to the Katha (Holy pastimes) of GOD with such absorption that he continued to listen to the Holy pastimes for four days without food and water. He did not say that he was enduring hunger and thirst, he said that he could not even remember hunger and thirst. If there is absorption in listening to the Holy pastimes of GOD, it should be like this. |
| 698. |
Shri Parikshitji was so engrossed in the contemplation of GOD while listening to the Katha (Holy pastimes) of GOD that he did not even remember hunger and thirst. |
| 699. |
One should only consider their devotion meaningful when the enjoyments of the world are forgotten that day. |
| 700. |
It is our misfortune that we do not remember GOD, and the enjoyments of the world are not forgotten. |
| 701. |
If steadfastness develops in devotion, then life becomes blessed. |
| 702. |
One should consider oneself blessed on the day that a permanent interest in listening to the Katha (Holy pastimes) of GOD develops in our inner being. |
| 703. |
The Katha (Holy pastimes) of GOD blesses everyone, the one who listens to it and the one who narrates it. |
| 704. |
If our speech speaks for GOD and our hands write, then the purification of our heart and our welfare are assured. |
| 705. |
Even if the Name of GOD is spelled by someone's mouth unknowingly, it still destroys their sin. |
| 706. |
Our speech becomes pure by describing GOD. |
| 707. |
No one is able to describe the complete glory of GOD, but saints believe that whatever small fragment they are able to describe, their welfare is certain, certain and certain. |
| 708. |
We should connect ourselves with GOD, the Master of infinite universes. |
| 709. |
GOD cannot tolerate the sorrow of His devotees and immediately removes it. |
| 710. |
It is the fundamental Vedic principle that GOD resides in every particle of the world. |
| 711. |
It is the glory of Bharatvarsha (India) that the Sanatan Dharma (Eternal Religion) of Bharatvarsha considers GOD Shri Suryanarayanji (Sun-GOD) also as a form of GOD, whereas this does not happen abroad. Sanatan Dharma looks at everything with a conscious perspective (Chetan Drishti) and views every substance with the intellect of a Deity (Dev Buddhi). |
| 712. |
The Cow-Mother is on Earth only for our welfare, and GOD has sent her only for our welfare. |
| 713. |
The Katha (Holy pastimes) of GOD generates the love of GOD and steadfastness for GOD. |
| 714. |
GOD alone manages the entire system of the world. |
| 715. |
GOD already knows every matter that we request from Him. |
| 716. |
Deities, Paramhansas, Mahatmas, Saints and Devotees take birth before the incarnation of GOD to become participants in GOD's Holy Pastimes (Shri Leela). |
| 717. |
GOD Shri Vedvyasji composed the eighteen Puranas to bring the principles of the Holy Vedas (Shri Vedji) into our awareness. The Puranas contain an amazing essence filled with metaphors which informs us about the Vedic principle. |
| 718. |
Every deed done by us should be one that does not cause distress to anyone, only then will we be dear to GOD. |
| 719. |
The distress caused by us to anyone will ultimately torment us. Therefore, it is the Indian tradition that we desire the welfare of everyone and pray to GOD for everyone's welfare in this manner. |
| 720. |
When we pray to GOD that people receive happiness and health, GOD first gives that happiness and health to ourselves. The sound of the prayer we make for others, its echo automatically works for us. |
| 721. |
Our present sorrows are the mere result of our wrong thoughts and conduct from our previous births. |
| 722. |
GOD is always manifested in the hearts of devotees. |
| 723. |
GOD is Satyavrata, meaning He is the one who makes His every vow come true. |
| 724. |
GOD is Satyaparam, meaning He is supreme in truth and can only be attained through truth. |
| 725. |
Those who perform the devotional hymn (bhajan) of GOD with the sentiment of devotion never get trapped in Maya (illusion). |
| 726. |
When Shri Vasudevji requested GOD how he would be able to protect GOD Shree Krishnaji from Kansa after His birth, GOD told him the remedy, to deliver Him to Shri Nandbaba. We too should request of GOD how to perform His service and then GOD Himself will show us the path to perform the spiritual practice. |
| 727. |
Shri Vasudevji walked carrying GOD on his head, and all the gates of the prison opened automatically. If we also walk carrying GOD on our head, then all the gates of the world will open for us. |
| 728. |
When GOD enters one's life, life becomes filled with ecstasy, ecstasy and ecstasy. |
| 729. |
The best prayers to GOD have been made only by Indian sages. |
| 730. |
To adorn oneself for GOD is devotion. To adorn oneself for the world is enjoyment. |
| 731. |
A devotee adorns themselves so that seeing them, their GOD will be pleased. |
| 732. |
A devotee adorns themselves while maintaining the purity (sattvikta) of their appearance. |
| 733. |
One should only go before GOD with humility. |
| 734. |
If one is to go to GOD, one should take something to offer. One should never go to the temple empty-handed, even we must take just a single flower. |
| 735. |
We should have the value (sanskar) within us to offer everything that we have received in life to GOD. |
| 736. |
When GOD was in His child-form (in incarnation), the Gopis used to give Him blessings, it is only the power of devotion that even a devotee can give blessings for the welfare of GOD. |
| 737. |
After God-realization, the life of a being changes completely. |
| 738. |
The manifestation of GOD in our heart makes our life a continuous celebration. |
| 739. |
Whenever GOD grants a vision, He first gives it within our inner being. Shri Dhruvji had the first vision of GOD in his heart and then he had the same vision outside. |
| 740. |
What is showered during the birth celebration of GOD is not important, but the sentiment of ecstasy with which it is showered is what is important. |
| 741. |
The sweetness, grandeur and generosity of GOD fill the eyes of devotees with tears of joy. |
| 742. |
One should celebrate the festival of GOD daily in one's home. We should celebrate the festivals of GOD by filling our minds with the sentiment of devotion. |
| 743. |
In the life of a being who strives to perform the service of GOD with authenticity, GOD's grace descends to ensure that the service is completed. |
| 744. |
It is an eternal principle that the more wealth is utilized in the service of GOD, the more it will increase. GODDESS Bhagwati Mata Lakshmiji performs the task of increasing the wealth dedicated to the service of GOD. |
| 745. |
GOD is the original form (Bimb) and the devotee is His reflection (Pratibimb). Therefore, if one wishes to make the reflection beautiful, the original form must be adorned. |
| 746. |
The more the service of GOD increases in life, the more peace and elated ecstasy will arrive in life without being asked for. |
| 747. |
After GOD-realization, accomplishments (Siddhis) come into our life on their own. What kind of poet was Goswami Shri Tulsidasji before? But after GOD-realization, he became the greatest poet. Poetry itself walked into his life. Saint Shri Tukaramji had not read the Holy Vedas (Shri Vedji) but the devotional hymns (Abhangs) that came from his mouth were as if the Holy Vedas had taken an incarnation in Marathi. |
| 748. |
After GOD-realization, the entire life, meaning every moment of life, becomes a celebration. |
| 749. |
Those who have established an identity with GOD through devotion are the ones who enjoy true bliss in life. |
| 750. |
Whatever favorable or unfavorable devotees receive in life, they welcome it as the gift (Prasad) of GOD. |
| 751. |
Devotees receive elated ecstasy through devotion, therefore, they distribute joy in the world. |
| 752. |
GOD is in the heart of everyone who comes before us, therefore, everyone should be given happiness and no one should be given distress. |
| 753. |
By not giving distress to anyone, GOD Himself, out of grace, sends happiness into our lives. |
| 754. |
Kansa began to remember GOD daily out of fear. Due to constantly remembering GOD even out of fear, Kansa attained salvation. |
| 755. |
There should always be a feeling of hatred toward sin in life. If there is no hatred for sin, then sin will surely happen in our life at some point. |
| 756. |
GOD has sent the Gau-Mata (Cow-Mother) on earth as His manifested part. |
| 757. |
GOD gives His word in Shrimad Bhagavad Geetaji that when a person abandons their mistakes and stops committing them in life, GOD then takes hold of their hand. |
| 758. |
One must abandon bad companionship in life today and right now. |
| 759. |
This is the view of the Scriptures that the best company and the best friendship should be formed only with the Holy Texts. |
| 760. |
Evils will surely come into life, but the Holy Texts will keep our discernment (Vivek) awakened, we will become cautious of evils and thus be able to avoid them. |
| 761. |
When a person engages in the devotion of GOD, then no matter how sinful or wicked they might have been in the past, they become a noble soul (Mahatma). This is the Holy Word of GOD in Shrimad Bhagavad Geetaji that through devotion, even the most sinful person is immediately liberated. |
| 762. |
Just as dirt cannot enter inside a diamond and only makes it dirty from the outside, which we can clean by washing, similarly, GOD says that the faults and sins of a human are also external. Just as a diamond is made clean again by washing with water, in the same way, a human being becomes clean again through devotion. What a great assurance this is from GOD regarding devotion. |
| 763. |
Satsang (Holy discourse) provides us with discernment in life. |
| 764. |
Our Holy texts give us the discernment to choose between two things. |
| 765. |
After listening to the Katha (Holy pastimes) of GOD Shree Ramji, one must surely perform devotion of GOD Shree Ramji and simultaneously, one should also follow the virtues of GOD Shree Ramji in one's life. |
| 766. |
Bad company ruins even our good resolutions. Therefore, one should only keep the company of devotees in life. |
| 767. |
We should also know how to protect our good resolutions, otherwise, good resolutions will come into life and just flow away. |
| 768. |
If we cause distress to any saint or devotee, our offense becomes extremely serious, and it immediately destroys our age, wealth, fame and righteousness (Dharma). |
| 769. |
Day and night, our only contemplation should be of GOD. Even when Shri Nandbaba went to Shri Mathuraji to pay taxes, his contemplation of GOD residing in Nandbhavan continued. |
| 770. |
GOD closed His eyes upon seeing Putana — why — Saints say that GOD does not want to look at sin. |
| 771. |
We must ensure in our life that we never perform any adverse deeds. It is well and good if a good deed is performed, but a bad deed should never occur in one's life. |
| 772. |
When Putana arrived with poison, GOD closed His eyes upon seeing her. Saints explain a very beautiful sentiment for this that GOD closed His eyes and meditated on GOD Shree Mahadevji, because among the Deities, only GOD Shree Mahadevji is the leader in giving nectar to the world while drinking poison Himself. |
| 773. |
As soon as Putana picked up GOD to feed Him poison, Shri Shukdevji became annoyed while narrating the Katha (Holy pastimes). Devotees cannot bear to see GOD in distress even in His Holy Pastimes (Shri Leela), therefore, even when GOD performs a Holy Pastime involving adversity, devotees become annoyed seeing it. |
| 774. |
When GOD began to draw out Putana's life force, she wanted to be released and tried hard to free herself from GOD. But it is GOD's rule that once He takes hold of someone, He does not let go without liberating them. |
| 775. |
By holding onto GOD's name, the GOD residing within us begins to manifest in our life. |
| 776. |
The glory of GOD's name is such that the Gopis, even to ward off the evil eye from the child GOD, would recite His name as a Mantra (a name in prayer that is chanted). |
| 777. |
Even on a piece of land where the fertility has been destroyed, if a Gau-Mata (Cow-Mother) is left there, that land becomes filled with fertility again through her urine and dung. Such is the vast influence of the Gau-Mata. |
| 778. |
No righteousness (Dharma) or deed can be performed without the Gau-Mata (Cow-Mother). Our Sages have spoken about cow service first and foremost. |
| 779. |
The milk of the Gau-Mata (Cow-Mother) gives us purity, strength, nourishes our intellect, and provides vigor to our body. There is nothing else in the world that can give these four things together. |
| 780. |
It is stated in the Scriptures that if a pregnant woman drinks the milk of an Indian indigenous Gau-Mata (Cow-Mother) throughout her pregnancy and regularly offers water (Arghya) to GOD Shri Suryanarayanji (Sun GOD), her child will be born with radiance and will stand out among a thousand children. |
| 781. |
A greater thing than being bound by the rules of worship is to be bound by love for GOD while performing worship. |
| 782. |
If there is love in our heart for all living beings, then our heart will become Shri Gokul, only then will GOD arrive there. |
| 783. |
To love GOD is the first righteousness (Dharma) described by Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran. |
| 784. |
GOD is the embodiment of love (Premmurti), therefore, GOD looks at everyone and in every direction only with the vision of love. |
| 785. |
One who can love all living beings in life becomes equivalent to a saint. |
| 786. |
Whatever behavior GOD exhibited toward anyone in all His incarnations, He did it only for their welfare. |
| 787. |
The sins of those whom GOD touches with His compassion are incinerated that very moment. After Putana's death, fragrance emanated from her funeral pyre because her sins had already been incinerated due to the touch of GOD. |
| 788. |
If anyone remembers GOD for any reason, whether through love or devotion, it goes without saying but even if remembered with any other sentiment, saints humorously say that GOD has one weakness that He lacks the capacity to cause anyone’s ill-fortune (Akalyan). GOD will only and always bring about welfare. Just as a piece of sandalwood will only give fragrance regardless of how we use it, whether we grind it, burn it, cut it, or rub it, similarly, GOD possesses only welfare and a substance called ill-fortune simply does not exist with Him. |
| 789. |
Kansa contemplated GOD out of fear throughout his life, therefore, he attained a divine state and his salvation occurred. GOD orchestrated his end such that GOD was upon his chest and his gaze was locked with GOD's. In this way, his end was perfected. This is exactly what saints wish to do that they want to meet their gaze with GOD at their final moment. |
| 790. |
GOD has only welfare, only liberation (Uddhar) and only salvation (Mukti) for the being. Besides these, GOD has nothing else for the being. |
| 791. |
Shishupal's salvation happened due to malice, and Kansa's salvation happened due to fear. Both remembered GOD. It may have been for any reason, but their salvation was attained. It is a firm principle that if GOD is remembered for any reason, the salvation of that being is certain. If done with devotion and love, then what more can be said. |
| 792. |
The highest manhood of a being is to remember GOD through devotion in life. |
| 793. |
In devotion, the primary influence is that of sentiment. For example, while performing worship, if we hold the sentiment of GOD Shree Ganeshji in a betel nut, then GOD Shree Ganeshji grants us the fruit of that. It is the result of the sentiment we have held. |
| 794. |
One should remember GOD through any role in life, but one must certainly remember Him. |
| 795. |
One should engage one's mind in any form of GOD in life. |
| 796. |
The more our mind is engaged in GOD, the more our virtue (Satoguna) will increase and our darkness (Tamoguna) will be destroyed. |
| 797. |
If GOD is remembered in life for any reason, our welfare is absolutely certain. |
| 798. |
Let alone devotion, if even the mere remembrance of GOD occurs, there is total welfare just through that remembrance. If one has undertaken the devotion of GOD in life, then what more can be said. |
| 799. |
GOD Shri Shukdevji did not say "the slaying of Putana," but "the salvation (Moksha) of Putana," and stated in Shrimad Bhagwatji Mahapuran that this is the chapter of Putana's salvation. |
| 800. |
GOD gave salvation to Putana, and GOD also gave salvation to Bhagwati Yashoda Mata, then what more did GOD give to Bhagwati Yashoda Mata ? Saints say that GOD gave the essence of loving devotion (Premabhakti Ras) to Bhagwati Yashoda Mata, which no one else but her received. |
